Most disappointing TF

Recommended Posts

Cybertron Soundwave for me. I was really looking forward to him for a long time, all of the photos looked great, people seemed to love him, but when I got him... meh. He was kinda flimsy, the stuff hanging off his arms looked out of place in person and were restrictive at times, and his jet/shuttle/whatever mode didn't hold together well. I was expecting greatness, but got something kinda mediocre.

"Most disappointing" implies that you expected more than what you actually got...

It's what I meant, yeah...

And how is Cybertron Wingsaber dissapointing? I've got GF Sonicbomber and see no engineering flaw or other form of measurable crappiness. Did Hasbro Powerglide up their version?

No. He just doesn't stand properly & is top heavy.

The shoulders are also a disaster.

I just got one today.

Movie Payload.

All the pictures I had seen of him, he looked pretty durn decent (ignoring the Drone head - it is the most "Shockwavian" of the drone heads, so it was forgiveable).

That is, until I got him home and transformed him, and saw he had a five inch long plunger poking out of his back. >.<

SM I also have to give props to Cybertron Defense Red alert. IMO this was the best out of any of the Ultra classed toys from Cybertron. The only thing that lacked was the articulation in the shoulders. Other than that is was a pretty badass/fun mold in both modes.

I agree. The missile occasionally got in the way, but it could be removed.

I think the mold pales in comparison to CD Scattorshot though. Easily one of my favourite figures that I've bought since I started collecting.

Nightscream. Supreme Cheetor would come a close second.

G1 - Terrorcon Blot. Transforms from robot to...something with feet...and back again! But even as a kid I couldn't expect too much from a combiner limb.

BW - Transmetal 2 Scourge and Optimus Minor. Just uggghhhh.

Heeeeeey, what's that about Blot?!

Oh, and can you be a bit more specific on Scourge? I actually really want the figure someday.

The most disapointing for me was Armada Optimus Prime, his Super robot mode, truck and trailer combined. It was just pants! Huge chunky, unmoveable legs. Crapy sound effect. I'd only just started collecting TFs at that point and his Super mode was a real let down.

I'm almost thinking Movie Blackout. Not quite what I expected. ~_~ I think I saw the movie once too many times.

I think what disappointed me with Blackout was when you transform him into his alt mode w/o the blades piece on him, how little of the chopper his bot parts actually constitute.

Ugg! Don't get me started! he was so GREAT in the movie and I thought Blackout out of all the Transformers should have gotten much better treatment. Why's STarscream so much bigger compared to him??

Ugh, mine broke right out of the box. The tab that holds the right shoulder in place popped off the first time I TF'd it. And of course it was the last one I could find in town. Exchanged it for Ratchet, which I turned out to really like.

Deluxe Jazz is now my current disappointment. Maybe they will release him again with some freakin' arms next time.

I was transforming him yesterday thinking... "geez! The pegs are gonna break aren't they?" Soooo many great schemes for him and I just think that Hasbro didn't put enough thought into Blackout. I mean, c'mon , PEGS?? Hasbro could have at least made some kind of sliding feature on the side panels that would make Blackout a sturdier figure while in transformation. I think the sixe of the dude just annoys me the most. :07redface

I agree 100%. Seems like RID/Armada/Energon had 3 consecutive sucky Optimus Primes. It wasn't until Galaxy Force/Cybertron that this trend was broken. Still, that's feint praise.

Haven't bought it yet, but I will eventually. Animated Soundwave. I was looking through the panel pictures, and I was loving the designs, both toy-wise and just design-wise. As such, I was getting excited for my favorite Transformer of all time, Soundwave. Who has a guitar that turns into Laserbeak. Badass. So finally I get to it... and it's crap. I don't care for the choice of alt-mode, but the robot-mode just looks awful. HIS ARMS SHOULDN'T GO DOWN TO HIS FEET.

He better have a decent head, though. If he doesn't, I'll be rather peeved.
