Most disappointing TF

Last year, I bought my son the Costco Exclusive Prime / (and another Blue Truck - I forget his name - it is a car carrier truck).

He never plays with it. Instead of just transforming, it has way too many pieces that come apart and has to be reassembled.

I am not sure which series it goes with, if it even does. But I have regretted buying that one and have seriously thought about selling it (if it's worth anything) or getting rid of it. Wife has come close to giving it away.

The box is in the attic, I should pull it down and see exactly what it is. I tried to do a yahoo search and an ebay search and I don't even see one out there anywhere. Hmmm

first off, i loved 90% of energon toys, but wingsaber was the letdown of letdowns, he just stands there, his arms barely move, and his leg twist, wtf. he is pretty much a statue and prime armor, lame

Yep. I brought mine back like the next day. :thumb

Yes, and I too am discouraged by the Armada Transformers ... like about 90percent of 'em. Worst of them was Thrust. The bullet head and those legs just made me miserable for the designers. Armada Smokescreen was pretty craptacular too. :07redface

Yeah, I agree with you on this 100%. The toy you are talking about is the RID version of Optimus Prime (Fire truck) and it's definitely one of the worst figures I ever had. Most people would disagree with me though, but I think this is because it's an "Optimus Prime" toy so it supposedly makes it suck less or not at all.

I have the RiD Ultra Magnus (the one that combines with that Prime), while he is an okay figure the transformation is WAY too complicated. Theres no way a child could manage it. Even for an experienced fan he takes about 5 minutes to Transform which kind of defeats the purpose of having a toy IMO.

Energon Cliffjumper (actually Superlink Overdrive, he's Japanese). Wow, I can't believe how ugly this guy is. I payed like, 5 bucks for him and I still felt ashamed to put him next to the likes of E. Ironhide and E. Jetfire, which are not the greatest of toys to begin with... Cliffjumper was just YUCK in all categories, color, design , transformation, gimmick...I still have it though...collecting dust in my closet!

Indisputabily, the european release of the G2 constructicons:

They were released around 1990 and I was saving a lot of money for them. I was so excited, because when the G1 versions were originally released I was too small, so I couldn't have them, and I was all crazy for them.

So, at age 11, I go with all the saved money to the shop, and buy all the 6 figures. At home, I'm happy opening them, and thinking that the yellow color looks better than the lime green. Then, I realize something is amiss: scavenger's belly doesn't have the piece that should connect to the torso to become the arm.

And, at this point I begin looking at the accessories: no pieces for the arms, torso or waist, no Devastator's head. Nowhere to be mentioned in the instructions neither... Nothing at all. Only 6 toys with a design already 20 years old, and lacking what was the main feature.

I felt literally kicked in between my legs deliberately.

I'd have to go with MP-03

That's right Starscream. For months I salavated at the idea of having this guy. 2 of my friends went halvsies to billy up over a hundred bucks on the dude for me. When I got it I was more excited than I'd been since I found 20th Prime for $30 at a Wal-mart in Illinois. Then I picked him up and realized he was made out of that horrible Gundam plastic, you know that stuff that breaks if you look at it wrong? Low and behold I play with it like 3 times and there's already stress marks on the wings. Now no one is allowed to play with him, I just keep him on display.

The real disapointment came when they annouced the US release. Screw you Takomy and Hasbro. You hurt me. You hurt me bad :(

Gotta be Titanium Soundwave for me.

Soundwave is my favorite Transformer by far, but between the biant crotch of doom, the indistinct alt-mode that looks like a boombox raped a tape deck and called it a kid, and the fact Lazerbeak is a brick that sits in the tape door, I was disappointed pretty badly.

Second place would be G2 Prime. I saved up my money for it and it turned out to be identical to G1 Prime, but with a voicebox and missiles. Eh, I lost G1 Prime's fists anyway.

Quickswitch.

I was stoked after Sixshot.

I've heard of toys being bricks, but quickswitch turned into six different bricks.
