Murphy and Rogers have strongly hinted at thte fact that the movie will begin on Cybertron, allowing us to see more than the core characters, and also War Within style alt modes at frist.

i don't know if many other of you guys have seen it but the new ad for the citron c4 advert is cool, that's the kind of cgi we need in the movie.

Seen it, been there, done that, but agree.

Howdy. I'm still trying to find my way around this site, so I hope I'm posting this in the right place.

I was wondering if someone here could offer thier opinion to help settle a bet between friends. We were feeling nostalgic one day so we broke out Transformers the Movie. Now it seems to me that the movie intentionally borrows heavily, HEAVILY from the origional Star Wars Trilogy. My buddy disagrees. Please indulge me for a minute. Some of this is probably a stretch.

First of all, I notice the similarities between the official movie posters. The heroes are posed in a similar way.

In the second half of the movie is where I notice the similarities.

Take the characters: Hot Rod/Luke Skywalker, Kup/Obi-Wan, Arcee/Leia (notice donut things on the side of the head), Springer/Han Solo, Grimlock/Chewbacca, Blurr/annoying 3-PO, Galvatron/Vader, Unicron/the Death Star, Junkions/Ewoks (hostile then friendly), Wheelie/R-2, maybe?

We have the light saber training on the ship with the droid.

Could the Matrix be The Force?

Hmmmm....

So what's up?

So sorry to interrupt the flow of new movie talk with old. I'm an old man.

The more i think about it, the better the idea that they should just use the original "More than Meets the Eye" episode storyline as the template for the film becomes.

I'm pretty sure it will resemble that story very closely.

Everyone has made these similiarities before. Some of it seems a stretch and relating certain characters like you have is a bit "off" I'd say. Springer certainly doesn't seem like Han Solo nor does Grimlock even remotely remind me of Chewbacca.

Now the design aspects are similiar, but that's jsut kind of the way it is. A good reason for Arcee's "buns" is simply that back when they were designing her they wanted a more human-esque quality, and dealign with the "hair" was an issue.

Now the Unicron/Death Star thing is an interesting deal there. But even so, NOTHING in the world can ever be original. And with the low budget that movie had, it seems right that they'd used certain themes.

It's all about Good vs. Evil. That is the main point of the Movie. That's the main point of most things in entertainment...something evil must be stopped by something of an opposite nature.

But I appreciate your thoughts and ideas. It was a good comparison. I wasn't trying to rip your idea down, just talking about it.

Funny, I was more under the impression that if Cybertron were to be seen at all it would only be as flashbacks.

I seem to recall a line from these guys that mentioned that the Transformers were already here on earth, in hiding and waiting for something...
