TFans' Official 'Transformers Movie' Thread

Recommended Posts

youe right I is all about personal tastes, i'm sure i'll love Ray,, and I think Scarface is a horrible movie" that's sacrrelige" eh oh well. bottom line is that the TF movie needs to be PG-13 nothing more, nothing less. I looked foward to Aliens Vs. predator for ten years and when it came out i was "what the hell was that ?" it was a major dissapointment.I COULD'VE MADE A BETTER MOVIE. so when tf comes out im sure that it will probablybe a dissapointment too.

Of course it was dissapointing. It was Aliens Vs. Predator. Of course the most dissapointing part of it is that someone actually let them make it. What's next, Chucky having a kid? Oh, yeah, that's right, they're doing that too, aren't they? Alien Vs. Predator, Freddy Vs. Jason... you reference these movies as examples of good and bad filmmaking, then claim you could do better. Wow. That would be like me saying, "I saw a dead raccoon in the road today... I COULD CROSS THE STREET BETTER THAN THAT." Who couldn't? Both of those movies were horrible. And to say so is in no way sacrilege, I just wanted to show that I do in fact know how to spell the word sacrilege. I'm still trying to figure out how the fact that you thought Alien Vs. Predator was dissapointing has anything to do with how Transformers will turn out. My bet is that it will probably [hit space bar here] be a thousand times better than either of the Turd Vs. Crap movies discussed above.

Go Spielberg, Jurassic Park rocked.

We just won't talk about the third one.

So what your trying to do is make me look stupid becuase I made a few mistakes, when I wrote the post, well I was tired and all I have to say is so what.... I won't turn in this into a flame, but if you wanna insultme PM me.If that makes you feel better about yourself go ahead that's cool. Bottom line is that you can make point without being rude about it.

I could be alot more rude in my posts on here, but I'm not. People pick on others for typos all the time on this board. It's all in fun, as far as I can see. You still didn't explain how you being dissapointed by AVP has anything to do with the way the TF movie will turn out, which was my main point.

Sorry if my sarcasm insulted you, I can be more harsh than I intend to without realizing it. I was just trying to say that before you suggest that you can make a better movie than a professional movie crew, you might want to consider proofreading your posts that make such claims before you post them.

Nobody's perfect, myself included. If I goof up and make a typo or two, you have my consent to joke away. I can take it.

*EDIT* - By the way, I picked on Spielberg for Jurassic Park 3 too, but he's not upset. He told me so, he PM'ed me.

Well, not really. I made that part up.

OK, my point was that since I looked foward to AVP for ten years. the first i heard about it was ten years ago in a Wizard magazine. The article basically said that the studios had to be sure of what they wanted. and then it also said that the ownwers of the character and Darkhorse made thing more complicated. The idea that people were even thinking about doing this was great.

The dissapointment factor: Ok it seems that every time a movie that I look foward to seeing ends up being bad- Spawn, AVP, Arthur, Hero, and I am sure there are others that I can't think of right now. those experiences left a real bad taste in my mouth becuase they didn't meet MY expectations.

Doing A Better Movie: Ok I really don't know tow how to make a movie so I guess what I meant to say is that I could have made a better story line for AVP, and I TRULY belive that I could have done a better job writing the story for that movie.

Freddy Vs. Jason: I really think this is a great movie, due to the fact the stories of each character were revisited. The way Freddy needed to get back was very interesting, all that time through out the Nightmare movies they tried eveything to get rid of him and all they had to do was to forgot him. Once forgotton it was like he never existed at all. This also apllies to Jason, people just stopped going to Crystal Lake and eventually Jason just faded away. Well you know the story. I think this movie is highly under rated. THIS MOVIE DID NOT SACRAFICE INTEGITY

Full Circle- How this relates to the Transformer movie: I feel that it is very important that this movie does not sell out. I feel that is what happened with AVP. the movie business has gotton so concerned with how much they can make off a movie they sacrafice the integrity of the film. This must not happen with the TF film. but as stated above it will be watered down for the masses I am basing this on MY OWN expereinces that is all. I hate to be a downer but, I feel it will be a sell out fell good hit of the summer type thing.

As far as writing goes: I know that talk is cheap and actions speak louder than words so I may just get back into the swing of writing fiction, I may just write a fan fic for the forum and let yall be the judges.

Well, when you put it that way nexus1, it makes perfect sense. I still don't agree with your opinion on Freddy Vs. Jason, but it was well stated and defended, so I respect your opinion. I do agree that the TF movie should not sell out, but we must remember that Hasbro is involved with the production, in order to tie in a toy line. Therefore, there will inevitably be some level of selling out, which unfortunately we will just have to accept. My hope is that the people actually responsible for making the movie will stick to thier guns when it comes to having a really good, well thought out script and story that will positively represent the franchise on the big screen.

Movies to cite for references would be movies like Spiderman 1 and 2, X-men 1 and 2, Tim Burton's first Batman movie (as a more "classic" reference), and IMO Hulk and Daredevil, although I wasn't as familiar with those comic books prior to seeing thier respective movies. I personally thought they did well in writing a new storyline based on existing franchises in all of these examples, rather than trying to use original comic books as storyboards for the movies. Spidey and X-men in particular were great in that they kept the FEEL of the comic books, while presenting a story and movie that the general public, comic fans or not, could all enjoy. (Though to my knowledge, nobody really liked the Green Goblin helmet. What was up with that? Power Rangers, anyone?)

I can only hope that the TF script is great, and that the overall look and feel of the movie still feels like Transformers. It will be a bit different than what any of us expect, most likely, but change doesn't have to be bad. I'm patiently awaiting at least a trailer before I pass any judgement whatsoever.

*EDIT* - As for waiting ten years for a movie, I remember hearing about an X-men movie back around the time of the first Batman flick, also probably in Wizard. The word was that Glenn Danzig was going for the part of Wolverine. I wasn't very dissapointed in the final product though... sure, I had to wait ten years to see it, but I had almost forgot that they were working on it until I saw the trailer the first time. (Still waiting for Gambit, though. He was always my favorite for some reason...)

If the movie is going to be based on G1 Transformers I think it should be set in the 80's so that the cars and stuff can suit the time period better. Ok I don't think a Datsun 280ZX Police car ever exsisted but would be even sillyer set in the 21st Century. Unless they go the Altinators direction, but then they aren't the Characters we all know and love (and I don't want to see a Mustang Grimlock). But Megatron would have to be something like a Tank to make him more believeable. Pitty that, that would also mean Soundwave might not be in the movie as I think he is one of the key main Decepticon players in G1.

If it's G1

Autobots: Prime Decepticons: Megatron

Jazz Starscream

Sidewinder Thundercraker

Bumblebee (if VW let them) Skywarp

Wheeljack Astrotrain

Iron Hide Blitzwing

Prowl Soundwave?

If the movie is going to be based on G1 Transformers I think it should be set in the 80's so that the cars and stuff can suit the time period better.

This is an interesting idea and it has some merit, but I believe that to better appeal to the audience, the movie will be set in the present.

I'd say I'll enjoy this film whether it be 80s-set or present. I just hope it won't be the fiasco that was AvP. (Didn't they say there would be a Director's Cut?)

Just an observatioen - you have to hand it to those Hollywood GENIUSES, they come out with a movie that really isnt that good but they make thier money backregardless, becuase have UNCUT, DIRECTOR's CUT, EXTRA FOOTAGE dvds. brilliant!

Well, with the new Humans are the main characters it seems...we'll have to wait it all and see...who knows how it'll be now.
