TFans' Official 'Transformers Movie' Thread

Recommended Posts

What they said.  Cybertron will be a quick flashback sequence most likely, similar to the begginning of Lord Of The Rings, first and third movies.  That's my guess, anyway.  :thumb

I'd actually rather see this mid-way through the movie, with the inital revealation of the Transformers as a "surprise" for the movie's human characters - and the audience's as well.

Sort of similar to the first Matrix movie, where after that first scene with Trinity - the entire audience is sitting there thinking, "Whoa!" We didn't know what was going on, just new it was cool. (I saw the Matrix either on opening or the next night, before any buzz had started - the theater I was in actually applauded after that first scene.)

Actually not a bad idea... wonder if anyone has suggested that over on Don's board?

Probably too busy arguing over whether Soundwave should be a news van or a traffic copter :redface

They could sure trick the audience (us) a lot by emphasizing certain gadgets, cars, planes, etc...during scenes/shots involving humans in the beginning, thereby driving us nuts trying to figure out who's a TF and who isn't. A later reveal of who the bots have been (but not too much later) could be pretty cool.

Be my guest...I post on his board, but I never seem to get many responses. It seems like you gotta pound away at the regulars there with the same topics/ideas over and over before you get "heard".

BTW - Not like I have any mad skills, but I know what works well on screen and with pacing because I'm a filmmaker :)

That is not the case at all.

There are just so many fans and so many questions I can only answer whatever I know.

Until there is a first draft script there is just nothing final to discuss.

Hopefully today.

Yeah! Mr. Murphy is checking out TFans.com :clap I would *hate* to be in your shoes right now Don. I love the toys, the show, the comics, and even the fans... but there is no way to please them all with a movie. Just do your best and give Furman a few calls for tips...or me if he's unavailable :redface

Cheebus, I wonder if that's really him?

Hey if it is you, DM, I'd definitely love to get some work in the TF flick, in the Camera Dept. once you secure the DP? :D

I hope you do get a chance to check out the other TF fan sites, because there are some great ideas/opinions floating around by users who feel "stifled" at your board sometimes.
