TFans' Official 'Transformers Movie' Thread

Recommended Posts

Howdy. I'm still trying to find my way around this site, so I hope I'm posting this in the right place.

First of all, I notice the similarities between the official movie posters. The heroes are posed in a similar way.

In the second half of the movie is where I notice the similarities.

---Unicron/the Death Star----

one time me and my brother were comparing the two lines and i said... "yknow, Unicron in planet mode is kinda like ... the Death Star with Teeth."

Just sounds BADASS to me...

Vader: I have a Death Star.

TF: oh yeah? Mine's got TEETH. :)

Murphy and Rogers have strongly hinted at thte fact that the movie will begin on Cybertron, allowing us to see more than the core characters, and also War Within style alt modes at frist.

Funny, I was more under the impression that if Cybertron were to be seen at all it would only be as flashbacks.

I seem to recall a line from these guys that mentioned that the Transformers were already here on earth, in hiding and waiting for something...

I probably just infered that if we saw WWi modes, it would start on Cybertron, so I could be wrong. But flashbacks in introductory films never work too well unless it's once, and very early on, like a basic setup right away, in which case I'd basically be right anyway.

Think "Fellowship Of The Ring", or "Return Of The King"... prime examples. (Pardon the pun.)

The problem is the movie can only be 2- 3 hours long. I just dont know if they can introduce the transformers on cybertron and then go to earth get new modes then discover the plot and foil it in that ammount of time... and if there is some kind of heart warming ending... I'm setting the theater on fire when I leave

They really should include the back story because there may be some people like my wife who really dont know anything about the story of transformers. (although she certainly knows some of the characters after doing my christmas shopping)

MTMTE does that and more in 72 minutes.

yeah and Don (we're on a first name basis, don't ya know?) already said that the film will be geared not only for fans but for people who haven't even seen a transformer show.

if they are doing cybertron it will be the autobots just before going to search to energon like in more than meets the eye

What they said. Cybertron will be a quick flashback sequence most likely, similar to the begginning of Lord Of The Rings, first and third movies. That's my guess, anyway. :thumb

Sounds good. As long as half the movie isn't spent setting up the reasons why the Bots and Cons are fighting. It sounds like they want to make it a series of movies, so that stuff can be spread over 2 or 3 movies.

I'd actually rather see this mid-way through the movie, with the inital revealation of the Transformers as a "surprise" for the movie's human characters - and the audience's as well.

Sort of similar to the first Matrix movie, where after that first scene with Trinity - the entire audience is sitting there thinking, "Whoa!" We didn't know what was going on, just new it was cool. (I saw the Matrix either on opening or the next night, before any buzz had started - the theater I was in actually applauded after that first scene.)
