I plan to see it plain and simple. Right now, I'm trying to avoid forming an opinion about it because most of what we have is speculation.

I disagree. Director's Cut, special edition etc. DVD's usually include cooler stuff that you don't see in the theatrical release. Think about the Lord Of The Rings extended editions. They each have about an hours worth of extra footage which completes the movie alot better for the fanbase, or the "purists". The footage added in these types of releases is usually the stuff that hardcore fans (like us) usually want to see, but was left out of the original version to better please the popcorn munching masses (not most of us). I for one can't wait for my 4 disc, limited edition widescreen director's cut of Transformers, with Optimus and Megatron bookend statues included. I'll gladly shell out $80 for the collector's set, because unlike with LOTR, I actually AM a Transformers collector, and will spend my money to help the franchise thrive, so that hopefully my $80 will help fuel Transformers 2. And 3. And 4.

I'd say that the LOTR director's cuts aren't really the norm.

 

Most director's cuts splice back in unused footage that is pretty simple, usually with very little in the way of special effects as it isn't really cost-effective. If there is a director's cut for the TF movie it would probably be scenes with humans and not the CGI TFs, as that would be too expensive. I won't even expect a two disc set unless the movie is a big hit.

Why Female: In the transformer world they were a by product...Think about it 1 for every 1000. they server no reproduction perpose so the only reason for a female robot would be from need! Some one wanted a female robot.

 

I only know of a few femal robots, Cybertron quartet, best wars Spider and eagle etc...

 

As for why cars...whoa, you realy miss that one....The transformers take shape of any thing that help them blend in. in beast war they took shape of animals, later(actualy earlier) they took shape of cars...Megatron and soundwave are a mistery! Soundwave was originaly abel to change into several item as seen in the initial show. Normaly the robot will be assign a body base on current size and avalability. The language is program in by the probe(Radio waves)...I am sure if they landed in Japan, they would speek their language! Why did they take car, well they were to big to convert in to the current mamals...you would have to watch beast was to really understand the size the the Original Robots. Beasties were much smaller then the original. Also If you were a computer and scan a planet and you saw a large metal object moving fast or a Micro weak mamel...witch one would you chose? Insecticons show you how defrent each clan are in the transformer world. Pretenders series show how they adapted to the human world.

 

No one is too old for transformers, trust me I know!

ok my list would be:

prime = leader

prowl = rhm

bumblebee = classic human relations

sparkplug/spike/daniel = ill go with spike this seems to be the big duh

grimlock = for brain bashing

wheeljack/ratchet = more likely wheeljack

and probably a less popular character to increase his popularity and fill gaps such as antagonist,arrogance,comic relief and what not

 

megatron probably will look like g1 and wo says he has to transform in the movie at all? my guess is he probably wont he never does in the stories soo....

soundwave probably wont transform either but will have lazerbeak and ravage

WTF Soundwave could only turn into a walkman. The Skyspy only scaned the cars/jets b/c it's not good with Biological life, and it thought theyt were the domenete lifeforms. and The bots were portrayed much bigger in BW so they could portray them in a mythic light. In the cartoon Prime was only 6 meters tall, and the BW guys are about 3 meters tall

Hound and Grimlock

The problem is that we all have our personal favorites from a massive number of characters, by restricting the number to 7 on both sides they can't help but annoy some of us, although surely there will be cameos from other characters at the begining.

I'll be happy as long as they stick to G1 characters, with their original transfomations or nearest current version ( Soundwave would be a CD/Cassete player instead of just a cassete player for example ) and don't do anything stupid like focus too much attention on the human characters ( which spoiled the animated Armada and Energon series, in my opinion ), it is after all a "Transformers" movie.

My personal wish is that if they could get as many of the original voice actors ( Peter Cullen, Frank Welker, etc ) as possible, it would benefit the upcoming movie massively. Has there been any mention about voices?

Voises don't realy matter that much too me It would atract more ppl if Celebraties voise it, My Grandfather saw the Mivie Shark Tales just b/c of the voises.
