It's just cause the Production Stills aren't costing any fans hundreds of dollars to complete their trio of Seekers. If the set hadn't contained Thundercracker, this thread would be half as long, easy. No seekers at all in the set = what there was a thread about that?

im still getting them, more than likely dreadwing will be the larger of the five so im curious to see what hes going to look like?

 

I am betting money on him being a Jetfire repaint.

Well, damn. I poured through this thread in hopes of finding an up-date with pics of the new set. Instead I got to read about alot of anger and frustration.

 

First off, if 2 of the seekers are getting re-tooled meaning new wings and wing transformations and new cone heads then you can BANK on seeing these in retail! No question! See in the past these cheaply made exclusives in a bag would have maybe a head change and that's it. Real cheap to do on a limited bases. At about what 20-40 bucks a 10 dollar figure, HAsbro breaks even.

 

Retooling the classics SS mold into classics ramjet:

 

Have you all noticed how much work went into Ramjet? Theres alot going on with his wings and the added transformation to accommodate the new wing shape. and the head/face. Hasbro did a great job, it really is a nice robot.

 

To create dirge and especialy thrust, there is going to be alot of serious retooling to this mold.

 

So much re-tooling that there is no way in hell that selling this figure at $40 or cheaper at $20 on a short ass weekend is going to recoup the costs of the retooling alone. And that's if they sell everyone they have at Botcon!

 

Hasbro is not going to put that much effort into a toy just for a 3 day weekend. So either the retooling rumor is bunk or Hasbro is just introducing the toys at the con at this high price but if you wait untill after the movie toys we might just get Thrust and dirge at retail. In fact I can bet money that this is exactly what is going to happen!

 

So after I get my movie toys I know I will be seeing more classics on the pegs soon after. We now know we are getting Cosmos so I think Dirg and Thrust are right around the corner.

 

But if you really want to protest (if you really are that Powerglideing pissed off), protest with your dollars. Go to the con, stand in line for the toy set and when it is your turn to buy the damn thing and the reseller thinks he's getting your cash, just tell him; "Ah nah, I just only wanted to see the seekers that should have been sold at retail" and leave. If every tfan that goes to the con does this (yes Powerglideing with the resellers) and thus selling hardly any of these sets then I think Hasbro will get the message about where and when you'd like to see your next figure.

 

But either way I got two $10 bills that says we will see them on the pegs at my local Walmart and Target; one $10 bill for each cone head!

My gut says...

 

Thundercracker - Straight SS repaint.

 

Dirge - Straight Ramjet repaint.

 

Thrust - SS body, RJ head, MAYBE VTOL fans molded onto the winds.

 

Bugbyte - White & Purple Decepticon Bumblebee, modeled after the eHobby Gobots/G1 exclusive set version of "Bug Bite". Probably with a bio that references Gobots and fits them into Transformers "canon".

 

Dreadwind - "Nemesis Jetfire". Modeled after the Powermaster Dreadwind. Purple and blue. Maybe the white becomes black in homage to the RiD version.

I didn't read all that, but it would be awesome if they did bother remolding the wings for Thrust and Dirge, since they were all different to begin with. Of course Thundercracker being a straight repaint won't be a problem. The only thing that surprises me is that they're not doing an Astrotrain repaint in Astrotrain colors.

 

And going back to what Pete said, I'm about a hair's breadth from ordering MP Starscream at the moment (my stance on that particular figure has softened dramatically over the course of the year), but I know that as soon as I do they'll announce a repaint or something.
