Botcon Exclusive Set Revealed

Recommended Posts

What really still annoys me about this is how there is basically NO WAY anyone outside the USA can get these figures other than paying through the nose for airfare or getting scalped on the secondary market. It annoyed me last year with the set that I did want, and it still annoys me this year.

FP and Hasbro should find a way to release these to Europe, Asia, and the rest of the world. It's unfair and a further kick in the teeth to foreign TF fans.

As for all the people Starscreaming about price, most things with the tag of "exclusive" cost a lot. You either pay it, or go about your happy lives.

That is where you are wrong. Japanese Transformer exclusives are always either free or reasonably priced by the toy company manufacturing them. These American companies are just downright greedy IMO.

What you talkin'bout, foo'? ;)

That's not true. Take for example Lucky Draw toys. They aren't free, you have to either buy them against extremely high prices, or buy a set of toys, collect their codes, and fill in an entry form, which totals to an even higher amount of money than they ask for the Botcon toys. So, they are far from free.

I'm a little bummed by this, but I'm not going to lose any sleep over it. We all saw this coming miles away. Bugbite strikes me has pretty lame though. A new character isn't exactly a "classic".

BTW, there could still be a silver lining (abeit small) to this thread. The SW Insider exclusive deal only had a limited exclusive time window. They were eventually discounted to smaller retailers 2-3 years later. Hopefully FP contact is similar.

As for the potential silver lining......does anyone know if any TF Botcon or simliar exclusives have gone to other forms of distribution? I'm not talking about general release retail exclusives, I am talking about CONVENTION exclusives.

No Transformers convention exclusive has ever been re-released to retail (or re-released at all, for that matter).

lol EXCLUSIVES

I'm kind of enjoying the irony of this situation. I remember 2 years ago everyone was saying "this sucks, why don't they make a set we actually want!" and now everyone is saying "this sucks, you made a set we actually want!". I mean, I understand where people are coming from, but it still strikes me as a little humorous.

:lol teh irony is grand

All I'll say is anyone who can get these, good for them and their uberfat wallets

For an extra $40 ($25 for Canadians) FP will ship the non-attendee package to non USA residents. It says so on the registration form.

I wonder if any kitbashers and customizers on this board would be interested in making some extra cash......

The amount of time it takes to repaint/kitbash a custom, the price charged for said custom would likely be around $100 each. You're better off buying the set.

...

*Insert Angst here*

They did atleast release the most awesomest of them all, Ramjet.
