Botcon Exclusive Set Revealed

Recommended Posts

The only thing that surprises me is that they're not doing an Astrotrain repaint in Astrotrain colors.

That really is a surprise, and honestly if they had switched out Bug Bite w/ Anime Astrotrain, then that would have pushed me over the edge and I would have gotten this set. Gimme the missing Seekers, Anime Astrotrain and Nemesis Jetfire and that is one winning set. Of course, I would still need to see what the Seekers look like before I would be completely sold. I bet they just go the recolor route just like always. It is cheaper and easier and still a guaranteed sell for many people so why bother remolding?

STOP CALLING EVERYTHING 'NEMESIS'.

STOP CALLING EVERYTHING 'NEMESIS'.

So would Optimus Prime actually be "Nemesis Nemesis Prime"?

I heard somewhere that they won't be retooling the seekers. However we have seen that before with some. Honestly all I'd need to see would be Thrust's wings redone.

Bugbite is probably a green Starscream, goes along with one of the G1 color variants from the show - blooper if you will.

I bought a 3rd Ramjet last night to make Dirge. I am not waiting to see how much this $$$ set will be going for, might as well just spend $30 for the other 3, and repaint them my self. Already made my Thrust some time ago, and he came out great. Dirge and Thunder are simple repaints. Still have one more to finish also, left over Dirge/Scream parts into a custom.

They could possibly do a great job with the seekers, they could just do the minimum. Will wait and see the picts. Doubt I'll be spending the $ on a set for my self.

Considering they usually sell a couple of additional figures that are separate from the official "Botcon" set, I'd be surprised if Anime Astrotrain was not one of them.

Bugbite will be a white Bumblebee repaint I reckon: http://www.tfu.info/2004/Destron/BugBite/bugbite.htm

I wouldn't be surprised if Sunstorm was the free figure, and Anime Astrotrain and Shockwave were the additional two you buy at the Con.

I was thinking that they could probably repaint Hot Rod into Sideswipe as well...

(But if I guess they're all supposed to be Decepticons.)

I'd rather see a retooled Armada Wheeljack as Sideswipe. One of the problems with AEC, and now Classics, is that there are so many Geewunny molds floating around one could almost do repaints forever. I guess they decided to draw the line.

Gawd, I hope that rumour is true, and some of these figures are going into retail after the movie....PLZ hasbro!

Powerglide anything named NEMESIS! Its old and tired.... think of new names. Scourge rules and all else can die horrible deaths at the hands of Unicrons flatuance!
