Botcon Exclusive Set Revealed

Recommended Posts

ya really, not to mention black convoy was limited even more so than the botcon set

i thought entry into botcon was free?

also, if your not going than your lucky that they're offering it to non attendee's.

If entry is indeed free, then $30 for a pin, a booklet and a comic is pretty generous. That means the set of 5 TF only got more expensive.

And yeah, I do know I'm lucky to be able to get the package while not being able to attend, and at an even higher price than than $330. So I'd love to get my money's worth. If fans can make great wings for Thrust, I'd really hope Hasbro put all of this money to proper use and have given both Thrust and Dirge their proper wings, and not just slightly reworked versions of Ramjet.

So is it a fact that Classics Jetfire IS being repainted???

Yea, pics would be sweet...

So when can we expect pics?

As soon as the set is sold out. :redface

The sad thing is that you are probably right. Now that I've found a way to get them I'd really love to see them first before paying that amount of cash on faith. I'm only going to get this set of Dirge and Thrust have fully remolded wings and if Dreadwing is based on the Jetfire mold (I don't even mind it just being a repaint instead of remold). If Dirge has slightly remolded Ramjet wings with the boosters still on there I'm not going to do it. If Dreadwing is yet another Starscream repaint I'm out too.

I don't mind Bugbite at all. I don't have the Bumblebee mold yet, so it's a good addition.

It's not a fact. But it's either that or the set will have 4 Starscream/Ramjet remolds, because there aren't any other Classics plane molds left besides Astrotrain. And I don't think even Hasbro is stupid enough to put in 4 nearly identical planes in the set. 3 is already pushing it, but they're 3 with a good reason to be.

Making Dreadwind a Jetfire remold would make the set much more interesting.

Heck, Astrotrain could actually be the mystery 6th exclusive, most likely a repaint with show-accurate colors.

Meh, I'd rather see Jetfire repainted in Skull Leader colors. They could probably even do it without being sued, since the US air force uses (or used to use) the same color scheme with the skulls and whatnot.

no. I don't remember how much GA was last year, but I think it was somewhere around $10-$20 dollars. And preregistered attendees got in 2 hours earlier than everyone else.

103 only flies the F version.

Nerds :tflaugh

Because that was a single toy, not five or more?

Yes, but the Iacon Package is going out at $330 per set for non-members. Let's round it to 300 to get out the cost for all the other stuff in the package and it comes down to $60 dollars a piece. You cannot convince me that that manufacturing a Classics TF costs the same as manufacturing a Binaltech/Alternator.

Yes, but that price also includes other items, as well as entrance into the Con itsefl. It isn't just the cost of the figures alone. In fact, I would say a much larger chunk of that $330 goes towards that other stuff than the exclusives. More accurately, I would hazard to say that the figures themselves only cover about $200-$250 of that cost. The rest goes towards the cost of the con and all the other items in the kit. On top of that, but that exclusive Alternator didn't require any retooling, and that retooling does indeed increase the cost of the figures immensely; especialy for a limited run of Con exclusives.
