It's very interesting to see the difference between this forums. Here, everybody is complaining about the overpriced figures, while on other forums, everybody is jumping on this. Interesting to see the difference groups of interest.

And that's why I love this place! :thumb

Seriously, why go to a message board if it's not a total Starscream-fest? The last thing I need is to have a serious conversation with strangers on the internet about children's playthings. If it's not worth a laugh, what's the point?

QFT

I was just surfing around the boards and found a figure called Bug Bite...

He is a Decepticon repaint of G1 Bumble Bee. His colors are white car "shell" and black arms and legs...

Hmmm...

Now is the Jetfire mold used as the Voyager of this set...

Hmmm...

Kind of agreeing here. I mean, having more than one voice makes things interesting. It would be kind of boring to see a thread where the first post says "These toys are awesome", and every following post being "Yeah, I agree!".

I was just trying to make the point that they're cheaper and stuff, and "look" (avoiding italics) better if you're not going to play with them, which I don't.

...but you guys go ahead and buy your $200 Thundercrackers if it makes you happy.

I have seen the Robot Masters Seekers, and they certainly do not look better than the Classics Seekers; not by a long shot. While the jet mode paint detailing of the Classics Seekers may not be as "cartoon accurate" as the Robot Masters figures, their scuplting and over-all appearance is just as, if not more accurate. The paint schemes are simply bumped up a notch and given more flare. In robot mode, the paint schemes are nearly a perfect match, except on the wings. The Classics Seekers are ten times better than the Robot Masters Seekers.

Sure they are, especially the landing gear, the ten times bigger cannon and the magnific paint detailing on Starscream's face …

For me... I'm a casual collector. I don't buy toys that cost more than $20 and I'm used to pretty much everything I'd be interested in being in that price range.

Typically, more expensive exclusives are catered to people who who are more hardcore fans than I am.

Generally, my impression has been that people who spend more money are into more obscure minutia.

I mean, I'd pay $20 for an Earth-2 Superman figure but I wouldn't expect the character to get a wide release $10 figure. Lower demand, intense demand, higher price. Makes sense to me.

If Elita One or a Masterpiece Dai Atlas was going for $80 a pop, hardcore fans might eat that up and I'd shrug it off.

I'm not livid over this but I would like to see Hasbro rethink this or compromise somehow.

If it comes down to it, I just won't get it.

There's a big difference for me between a figure I can pick up at Wal-Mart when I'm getting shaving cream and milk and a figure that is part of a set that costs over $100.

But I'd pay $20, maybe even $30 for the figure to complete the seeker set.

I just can't justify over a hundred.

I think TC appeals to the average G1 enthusiast and would make Hasbro more money with a wider distribution channel.

Like I say, not the end of the world. Just a little disappointed, really. But I fail to see why I should stop expressing disapproval about the decision.
