RUBBER TIRES! that's what it's missing.

I don't miss the rubber tires. They get old, dry out, crack, then fall off and get lost or are just too damaged to put back on. Plus on some the chrome chipped off the wheels and such. Yeah they look and feel nice but I shudder to think what my Alts will one day look like once the age starts to take it's toll on the rubber tires.

I miss rubber tires too, not only they were more realistic and old-school, but they gave a brand new G1 or reissue car its particular smell, it's part of the pleasure you felt while taking it out of the package! As for the ageing, just be nice to your toys and rubber will last a very long time. The ones I have from 20 years ago are still great, although I didn't take care of the toys for a while.

If the new cartoon were based on Classics, then what would Hasbro sell as their main toy line?

Ummm... more Classics - along with the ones we've already got in new boxes? :tflaugh

Silly boy. This cartoon isn't going to start airing until fall 2007 (at the earliest). That's almost a year from now. That would take the Classics way past the typical 18-month cycle for a main line.

I was about to post a witty response to this, but then I realized that my original point was that Hereos would not have anything to do with Classics. :redface :tflaugh

I hear what you guys are saying, and to that extent, I'm not necessarily disagreeing with anyone here. But objectively speaking (i.e.: without the bias of G1 nostalgia), I don't think that, as toys, the Classics are inherently superior (or inferior) to Cybertron.

death333: yes, there are some pretty crummy toys in Cybertron but that's because there's more of them. It's like watching Jerry Springer and wondering if all Americans are Powerglideed in the head. Not necessarily... but because the U.S. does have such a massive population, it does mean that they have a higher proportion of wack-jobs (who love to come on TV and show the world how messed up their lives are :D). The other day I was commenting about how it seems to be a lot harder to become a decent fighter in Karate compared to Kung Fu, where it seems to be much easier to much quicker to become a competent fighter. But then someone pointed out to me that this perception was skewed by the fact that there are a lot more people who do Karate compared to those of us who do Kung Fu - which means that you have a lot of people doing Karate badly (Karate is statistically the most practised martial art in Australia).

prime needs a 'soopah' mode

Starscream should've had a grey nosecone.

Ironic that Classic Starscream, Masterpiece Starscream and even the supposedly more "show-accurate" TFC reissue and Robot Masters Starscream all don't have grey nosecones. They're all toy-accurate in having blue nosecones.

There is only one Starscream (based on the G1 character) who has a grey not blue nosecone.

Can anyone else figure out who it is? ;)

the problem with your argument is that pretender starscreams face is also black. whereas classics starscreams is not. classics is a interpretation of ALL of the G1 starscreams. he doesnt need to be specific to one. So your arguement is a bit silly.

Technically, only a single Starscream had a grey face...

G1: Toy, Black. Cartoon, Charcoal. Comic, Blue.

Pretender: Black

Actionmaster: Black

G2: Toy, Black. Comic, White.

WST: White

RM: (the first time NEW G1 Starscream was done) Grey

Masterpiece: Gunmetal.

Classics: Grey.

Starscream should've had a grey nosecone.
