Does Slaughtermaster hate Prime just to go against the flow of the rest of the random or is there a genuine reason?

I don't hate Prime. Just Optimus. And the origin story for that is 2 volumes long, with a temporal paradox involved.

Seriously, I think this is the first time in a long time I am excited about a Transformers line - even more so than the Alternators or the Masterpiece editions. This line has a lot of potential. As I said before, I would love to see a Classic Rodimus Prime (but that would involve the death of Optimus Prime and I'll leave it at that), plus I like to see a Classic Galvatron that is NOT a repaint of Megatron. We need more guns transformers, damn it!

I really would like to see a sub-line of base/playset Transformers - but not like Metroplex or Omega Supreme, but something like the Micromaster playsets. Those things added play value/diorama value to the toy in general.

So I just got my first wave Classics toys, and they're some of the best Transformers ever IMO. But I think so many more could have been homaged between these and the wave 2 and 3 figures.

For example -- I'd like the other four Dinobots, it seems cruel just to give us the leader. That'd have been a good move IMO.

Also some of the gestalt teams need serious updates, I mean the originals. A non-Energon Superion or Bruticus would roxxor

Ultra Magnus shouldn't have been a simple Prime repaint, outside of Titanium he hasn't gotten a new mold in 20 years, that is a mold all his own, so he really coulda been given some new loving

I think Shockwave could easily have been done in a similar fashion to the new gun Megs, Shocky rules

Also they should have done at least Prowl of the original Car Brothers

Wheeljack sorely needs a new, truly G1-esque mold with poseability

:pfx

The G1 Magnus cab was a repaint of G1 Prime, I like it.

I'm holding onto the hope that they'll release 2 different trailers (Magnus & Prime versions) for them.

*knows it won't happen*

Yes!! For they art awesome.

Well there's not really a "story" in this line since it's just "G1 redux". I think the only things preventing them from making Classics Rodimus Prime (which I would love, BTW) are a) visual similarity to Hot Rod, and b) the fact of the 6" Titanium.

which I will definitely be getting

And if standing my classics roddy next to 6" t!t prime is any indication, the Rods from each line will go very well together.

The big saving grace for the titanium line (as far as I'm concerned anyway) is that they're pretty close in sixe to these classics deluxes. I like my TFs to be about the same size unless one is supposed to be way out of scale, and usually won't display figs together that vary a lot in size.

I'll not be displaying Classics Prime and Megatron with the rest for that reason, even though I love them.

Oh yeah... I got my Classics today!!!!

Prime was my least favorite in pics and concept... but out of the box he's definately my favorite. He's solid, he looks good, has a pretty fun transformation, has good articulation...

I really can't say anything bad about him at all other than thinking it's dumb to have faux-grille abs on a prime if the grille doesn't actually form the midsection. But we'll just assume that Prime likes the way that sort of theing looks and that's why he went for it.

I'm kinda disappointed with Starscream. He's too blocky and the quality of the facial sculpt is obscured by the flat colour they used on it. He seems more like a homage to Pretender Starscream than the original Starscream to me.
With the HOLES in his fist, thay could have given him a hand gun. . . . . or could the rocket launchers fit in his fist?

I would love to see a new Smokescreen appear for Classics, one that's close to the original, but still seperate in many ways other than character. I also wouldn't mind seeing combiner teams of the Stunticons, Technobots and other combiner teams that haven't been remade over the years.

His rocket launcher fit in his fist.

I feel I need to stress that Classics in Hasbro's mind is just a filler line. Expecting a full line is silly IMO.

I concur.

We basically know Hasbro's plans for the next year and a half: Classics/TiTFs, movie and then the new "Heroes" cartoon. I guess there's an outside chance that there could be another wave of Classics around the time the Heroes cartoon comes out released in more of a Universe fashion (which don't forget, that before it's demise was a line in which Hasbro was considering releasing new molds); however, my guess is they'll probably just release some "Classics" homage bots in the Heroes line to pad it.
