  1. Started by Optics,

This figure is a must buy in my book! Not complete: G1 colors? Ratchet edition? :redface Prime.... maybe Nemesis.... maybe

  2. Started by FreedomGundam,

I haven't done up a TF custom in a VERY long time, but as per request by fellow member Iron Moose as a commission piece for a trade, I give you Classics G2 Ramjet. I took a little creative liberties with adding the stripe design on the back of the jet to "hide" the black back-of-the-waist piece (that part was done in black to closer ressemble Ramjet's G2 paint scheme). I actually tried out something new here on this one: the majority of the black parts were actually dyed black instead of painted black. I tried to dye the purple parts too, but the color came out too uneven, and ended up painting it either way. Anyhow, onto the pics, and enjoy! "In package"…

  3. Started by mampy,

After a 3 month hiatus from customizing, I've busted out the brushes and paints once again. Continuing my line of movie repaints, here is Ironhide! Ironhide was first base-coated with flat black and gloss black automotive acrylic epoxy paint. Multiple layers of drybrushing were added using Tamiya Acrylic gunmetal, metallic grey, flat aluminum, and chrome silver. The gold/copper highlights were added by painting Gunze-Sangyo acrylic clear yellow and orange on top of silver. I would also like to give credit to JinSaotome and Chih. I used their Ironhide repaints as reference material (as well as movie screen caps) for mine. Thanks also to solidus and charlieBROWN…

  5. Started by Emerje,

This is the end result of a lot of experimenting. I had started with this in mind, but I botched it it pretty badly experimenting with plastic dying. Most of the arts became badly warped so I put it all on hold. Then when the Walmart two packs came out I had two extra Armorhides so I did a little more experimenting with dying. Black just wasn't working out, too long and it was warping the plastic and not long enough and what looked like penetrated dye could be washed off. On the other hand the red dye on the lighter plastic turned out perfectly! So I figured I'd just paint the black parts instead, but I didn't have any good black so the end results just looked dull and fl…

i know he still needs a few small paint apps and my gundum hands are on their way, thanks jaf, but i decided to go ahead and post anyway. i wish he had a more movieish head, but the e. screamer head, thanks hunter, does a pretty good job i think but i may slap the classics 2.0 head on there later.

  7. Started by frenzy_rumble,

Hey guys, I recently added a tutorial on "dry brushing with enamels" on my website. (frenzyrumble.com) (no dreadlocks allowed please) Most modelers have a serious desire to be able to paint tiny tiny detail with the skill of a master. Little did we know the master was using a simple technique called dry brushing. The name tells it all.....you are painting with a brush that is almost 100% dry. One of the biggest misconceptions about enamel paint, is that it's difficult (some say impossible) to dry brush with. However, this is far from the truth. In fact, it's actually easier and the results often better than dry brushing with acrylic paint. I've made this tutorial…

  10. Started by kalron,

Tenacious S.T.P. posted his Ratchet, so I decided to show off his twin Ironhide. Have not painted the Partforming base but I should get to that soon. I went simple; grey, silver, and a small amount of yellow. Also did some dremeling on the head.
