Upgrades

I've been itching to expand my Classics line, but being a Kitbashing virgin, it's made me a little aprehensive. Now, there're still going to be those Classics customs that I won't do, that I'll commission, due to complexity that I don't have talent for, but there will be those that will be so easy, there'd be no reason for me to not attempt it. My first idea is an Autobot I've been growing more and more fond of, lately, thanks to his Alternator counterpart. Making him into a Classics figure stumped me for awhile until this morning. Let me start by saying that Classics Jetfire is awesome! :thumb IMO since he is based on IDW's Stormbringer series Jetfire, he should be more "comic accurate": 1) I painted the "air intakes" on the top of his shoulders. 2) I shortened the missles, and painted them. 3) I painted the spaces on the helmet between the antennae and helmet. (Looks less bulky to me) 4) Took apart the legs, and painted the knees. Nothing major, but I still wanted to share: Jet mode: Bot mode: Super mode: Battle pose w/ Megatron: Enjoy! FYI.... i found this on TFW2005 recently and i really wanted to share this w/ everyone b/c it is SO simple to do. first i wanna credit the guy who made that thread (SMOG). from such a small mod comes a great outcome. please tell me what you guys think, and if this is old news then at least a few other ppl can be informed of this. i do plan to piant this one up more like old school ala JIN's fine example, but differently. i'll shut up now, Zedz before after (plus pics of thruster mod)

This probably the most complex Legends custom I have started. I took some Megablock's Pirates figures, cut their elbows and knees and inserted them into the arms and legs of the Transformer. I had to measure very carefully so the transformation were not altered. And it's done. All I have to do is adding some paint. I was thinking about just paint black the new pieces, and add some detail. What do you think? View the Custom Gallery Here

I know I'm not only person here let down by the less than stellar paint work on the recent remold of Ultra Magnus, but while I can deal with the body work as it is, the face just bugged me for how monochromatic it was being only a white painted head with a silver face plate. SO in five minutes, I took Magnus around from my toy shelves to my hobby desk and did a quick fix. People who read the Model Kits thread in the Animation Station know I like to play Mad Scientist with my hobby paints trying to come up with a more accurate tone to match plastic colors, so here's what I've concocted. I am planning on building him an armor but for now he is sporting his G1 volume 2 paint job with the white, and the teal. So here he is. Now to get back to painting Longhaul for Cl Dev.

I just found these pics again of the touchups I did on Magnus. I know there's tons of these already, but here's mine anyways.

What I did was a minor adjustment...I originally planned to cover up all of the orange, but due to the orange barrel being pinned into his shoulder, I decided to play it safe for now and just paint the orange on the fusion cannon black. With that done, the orange doesn't bother me as much now. Pics: I wanted the paintjob to be a little smoother, but I think that's as good as it's gonna get.
