Classics Magnus based on G1 volume 2 Now w/ FP armor & tight enough joints to hold the BFG

Recommended Posts

I am planning on building him an armor but for now he is sporting his G1 volume 2 paint job with the white, and the teal. So here he is. Now to get back to painting Longhaul for Cl Dev.

What color(specific) did you use for the mask? I want to paint mine.

I wish I could tell you. It was in this value pack of acrylic gloss paints from Apple Barrel that my wife got me for my birthday and the box has already been thrown out. However if you find the Apple Barrel gloss paint value pack you'll find the color guaranteed. Oh and just so you know it is amazingly the exact same color as G1 UM's armor. I bought the UM helmet for this project though I probably won't use it and I checked to see how close it was and I'm willing to bet it is so close that if I painted a stripe of this paint on it you'd never even be able to notice.

did you strip the blue or paint it white for truck mode?

i like it better, but i'm still ging to make the waist/legs silver on mine.

great work as always, can't wait for the armor!

I just painted it since under the blue paint is probably just clear plastic. To back honest I looking forward to getting to work on his armor. As you can tell from the one picture I plan to use the legs from Cl Optimus Prime. I'm just trying to decide which way to use them. I'm thinking I'll have him stand on them in this position and then have the bed of the trailer fold up against the back of his leg, and of course have the ramp be the front of his armored mode leg. Then the front end of the trailer will become his chest armor with another head inside of a storage area in the front of the trailer that will fold over the top of the top of the cab. I'll probably use the Cl Prime arms for the armor's arms

Draw us a sketch?

I'll try to this afternoon if I get a chance.

Looking good so far, Magnus should always come with his armour, a general repaint just isn't Ultra Magnus, just Magnus.
