So because I decided to be a Classics Completist, I went out and bought these guys. It was a strange decision, I know. But having not been able to find Grimlock or Jetfire, I had to buy something, and the "Ultimate Battle" had been taunting me for a while. So I gave in. The set is definitely not the Classics line's strong point, and I find them to be even less defensible than those Minicons (which I reviewed in another thread). I'll start with Megatron. Keeping in line with all the recent Classics figures, he's got a whole lot of sculpted detail, especially in places where you wouldn't think to look. He comes off as a more jagged version of that heavily reu…

Why the hell do the Classic LoC figures have no less than 4 twist ties?!!? They fit nice and snug in their cases without them. Classic Mirage (a deluxe) on the other hand only had two. God help kids who get a leader sized figure on Christmas morning. It takes a good 12 minutes to free them from their plastic tied prison! [/rant]

I know everyone is all like oh noes Hasbro is going to give Marvel back the TF comic liscense. I however have a different feeling about it. :clap Marvel has a much better distribution than Dreamwave did, and than Devil's Due seems to have since I have yet to see any TF comics in my area. The other reason is because you know when they did the G1 reissues of the old TF figures they didn't need to get permission from the car companies. So I'd be willing to bet that if they made a little side bar in the Marvel Legends line they wouldn't need to either. Oh I don't know say maybe Marvel Legands TFs based on their appearances in the G1, G2 and Beast Wars comics and of course in …

Instead of the old "best Transformer toy" or "worst TF toy", I am curious to what you think is the most original Transformer toy ever created. Take whatever criteria you think are important. Design, gimmick, transformation sceme, whatever. Personally, I really like Powerlinx Armada Optimus Prime. It is obviously Prime, but the color-scheme is so different, yet heroic and energetic. It's a departure from the classic red, white and blue, and very innovative. Transformation-wise, I really like RiD Prowl. A realitic car, and it transforms to a sleek, visually very impressing robot. One of the better designs created, IMO.

I wanted to see what the Hybred Convoy (g1) was like compared to this VS Prime. BUT I got a lot of BS. SO I finally opened my VS set, and am rather impressed with the prime. With the exception of the gun. SO I grabbed one of the Dollar Store primes and donated some weapons. They fit almost perfectly. If the handle was a bit longer it'd be perfect, but as it is, just have to be careful with it, or else it slips out. Check these snaps out. (How's the hybred vs this one???)

A little thing going on in my mind... Well, I saw the new TF movie trailer.... and I asked myself, if it would be even possible to put those advanced mechanics into the figures? The new Transformers in the movie look very very advanced in Transformations, could it possibly work in a toy? I mean, this is not just a simple car into robot mode transformation.... these are really advanced Transforer designs and Transformations...

Ok, so the 23rd at about 9:30 pm I go to Walmart, not to bad, of course thoughts of myself and a shotgun came to mind... But anyways I make it to the toy asile, low and behold theres stuff there that's been gone for months and stuff that never even made it here, namely: Alternators - Last time they were here was July, Prime, Skids, and Ricochet Classics - New, mainly the 2 pack and Prime and Megs Titaniums 6"s - Had wave 1, now had Scourge and Thundercracker So now Im planning on going when they open and beating the return crowd to see if they put out new stuff :redface

I'm asking this because with few exceptions, alt-mode never seems to be considered when it comes to toy size.
