Instead of the old "best Transformer toy" or "worst TF toy", I am curious to what you think is the most original Transformer toy ever created. Take whatever criteria you think are important. Design, gimmick, transformation sceme, whatever.

Personally, I really like Powerlinx Armada Optimus Prime. It is obviously Prime, but the color-scheme is so different, yet heroic and energetic. It's a departure from the classic red, white and blue, and very innovative.

Transformation-wise, I really like RiD Prowl. A realitic car, and it transforms to a sleek, visually very impressing robot. One of the better designs created, IMO.

the top 3 of the best and original Transformer ever created? Hm... Ok:

- Soundwave

- Reflector

- Preceptor

- Megatron

Really awesome alt.modes and design.

If you mean literally "most original" I'd have to go with this guy:

MOON

Heinlad would be up there as well.

As far as "Transformers who are original without being f*cking ghey as hell" is concerned, I'd have to say Omega Prime without a doubt. Optimus Prime and Ultra Magnus... combining?!? That was truly awesome.

The chrome and rubber tires didn't hurt either.

Klarion, I thought you were mentioning Armada Prime because of his automatic transforming Trailer. That's original. Too bad the Blot dont work. The Triple changers and Jumpstarters get a vote too. Who ever thought up Head Masterswas good too. Vehicles having pilots was always fun to me as a kid. Too bad the pilot was essential to the bot mode.

I wish I had a Heinlad. :(

:pfx and stuff for obvious reasons :tflaugh

Omega Prime is still my favorite figure ever. Aside from the fact that he's all kinds of awesome, he's also a combiner, a TF subgroup which happens to give me massive fanwood. The "combiners" of A/E/C just didn't cut it for me after the designs in R.i.D.

I'd also have to give props to Darkwing and Dreadwind. The Powermaster gimmick is fun, yes, but the real fun with these figures is their ability to combine into a vehicle form, not a robot form, as most combiners do.

Omega Prime is good looking and fun.....he just aint too stable trying to get a pose is like playing with Supreme Cheetor.

I'm gonna give props to the first wave of Beast Wars as the most original...they weren't like anything we'd ever seen before, and arguably saved the franchise back in it's day.

The original Rat Trap. True his transformation isn't very complex and he's practically a shell former, but he's a rat, a freaken rat. I mean I doubt anyone would have ever thought of a Rat as a robotic warrior.

Stampy is up there to jsut because he's a triple changer and a bloody rabbit. I love my Stampy.

Nothing is as bad as Supreme Cheetor.
