I wanted to see what the Hybred Convoy (g1) was like compared to this VS Prime. BUT I got a lot of BS.

 

SO I finally opened my VS set, and am rather impressed with the prime. With the exception of the gun. SO I grabbed one of the Dollar Store primes and donated some weapons. They fit almost perfectly. If the handle was a bit longer it'd be perfect, but as it is, just have to be careful with it, or else it slips out.

about a jillion times better. I mean, points for effort and everything, but HBS Convoy is one of the coolest TFs I own.

 

Still, he looks great with those weapons.

Yeah, I didn't bother with the axe since it's not all see-throughey and stuff, but I swiped one of the guns and it's definately what the figure was missing. (My Prime is now holding both guns, since the gatling gun he comes with just looks old school gangsta!!!! :D ) I also reccomend taking a small piece of scrap paper (the cardboard from the box works well, if you don't save boxes) and folding it over once or twice to wedge between Prime's top and bottom waist halves so he doesn't spin freely... allows for much better posing, although it disables the "power punch" gimmick. I found that to be rather lame anyway, so I preferred being able to better pose Prime. :thumb

you can also pull the trigger back to lock the torso from spinning as well. This eliminates the need for any other intervention.

Seriously, to transform him, you pull off his arms and heads a la G1 fist syndrome.

His feet actually transform more than the RM version does, oddly enough.

 

and he has a little LED somewhere.

 

But i'll put it this way - when I bought him, I opened him over my trashcan, yanked out the weapons, and piece by piece, immediately threw out the rest.

Corrected some things, they're bolded/italicised/underlined.

 

As for the comparison. Again, it's unfair to the VS Prime. THS-02 far outweighs him in quality, posability, coolness and a lot of other areas.

 

But nice find with the weapon. I personally don't mind the gun as much as some other people seem to.
