well lets think about it in movie terms the autobots will need some one to be leader. someone else as comic relief. some one to be the underestimated hero. mechanic tech type person. show off. maybe some one to be disident. and then some other g1 favorite to round it out

5. as for who would be comic relief it might be some one like wheeljack or jazz could also fit here.

6. disident? well there is no grimlock because Don said no dinos so maybe ironhide or prowl. (though neither two are necessarily go against optimus like grimlock they often disagree)

the decepticons will of course have their leader, his loyal right hand and trecherous left. a couple of cassettes to complement the former and 2 jets for the latter.

I doubt that they'd use all three Seekers, as it would be a little redundant to have 3 nearly identical bots in the flick with different personalities. Hell I'm a fan, and I can't remember which one is Thundercracker and which is Skywarp (OK...I can, but a random movie-goer might not, and that might make some of the plot not work for them).

 

At most, I'd expect two Seekers: one loyal, one...not so much ;). Then a helicoptor (Vortex?), or Blitzwing/Astrotrain, who do not yet have triple-changing ability.

 

Hell, they're starting an all new continuity, so with Alt Shockblast on its way to store shelves, I wouldn't be surprised if Shockwave decided to join the Decepticon cause on Earth.

The black color of the F-117 makes it perfect for Skywarp (he'd have purple robot bits).

Thundercracker could be any other major fighter plane, an F-14 or British Tornado would be cool because the swing wings. The unused F-23 design would be neat, too.

I agree that they should stick with the three seekers, each had a cool name and their colour schemes were distinctive from each other. Having them transform into different fighter jets would work but they should keep the robot forms similar.

Concerning Megatron, i think it would be a shame if he didn't transform into a handgun ( what better icon of evil ).

Yeah, I like the idea of three different types of planes. While three of the same jet would please G1 fans, like myself, three different jets would be easier to market for three different personalities and powers. Good thinking Trench!

What they did is essentially equip armored vehicles with amplifiers and speakers to generate extremely powerful low frequency (infrasonic) sound. Supposedly it is possible to incapacitate troops using this type of sound. On the other end of the scale, I can see ultrasonics being equally damaging.

 

I think any enemy would lose morale and all fighting capability if they were suddenly renedered deaf.

As for what I think...Here is how I see the Autobots being broken down to:

 

Optimus Prime - Obviously

Bumblebee - Human Relations

Ironhide - Tough Guy/Veteran

Meister/Jazz - Prime's Right-Hand Man

Sideswipe or Hot Rod/Shot - Reckless, Young Guy

Ratchet - Doctor/Mechanic

Sunstreaker or Tracks - Warrior Guy

 

I think atleast 5 of those are close to right if not right. I would imagine it being broken down very much like that.

I just had an idea for music for the soundtrack. If they want to put bands on the soundtrack, they should try groups like Sigur Ros, Tortoise and Air. Now, Air and Sigur Ros do have vocals (Sigur Ros' are in Icelandic though), but these groups do incredible instrumental material.

 

Just a thought.

Hey, I like Air & Tortoise! Interesting choices. Particle would be awesome for instrumentals though. They have a little bit more of a rock sound w/o sounding metal.
