TFans' Official 'Transformers Movie' Thread

Recommended Posts

Meshuggah would make a badass soundtrack. or Fear Factory.

and my favorite song off the old soundtrack was "Instruments of Destruction" \m/

Meshuggah is teh r0xx0r, but ain't no way it'd make it into the TF movie.....possibly a little KillSwitch if it was kind of hidden in the mix during a battle.

what??? 'Future Breed Machine' would be perfect

I want a punk cover of "The Touch" on the soundtrack.

As for casting, I see:

Mark Hamill as Starscream.

Sam Jackson as Jazz.

And with Spielberg producing, I can see Tom Hanks doing some kind of role. Probably Hot Shot. Hanks just recently had a big success (as did Jackson) in a voiceover role, Hanks works a LOT with Speilberg's people and Dreamworks... And Hanks sang the Transformers theme song, Sinatra style once on Conan O'Brien.

It just dawned on me with no character lists out yet, could there be a chance of seeing Arcee? Or is that better left for the 2nd or 3rd movies? I mean a 20ft (or bigger) Arcee... I can just see it now, Inappropriate online websites, movie passerby's looking up as she walks by with heads tilted to one side with a shi*faced grin, and watch her ass as she walks way. I mean Its an odd image (not bad one just odd). I mean Doesn't EVERY big money movie need some kind of Sex appeal in some way?

Hopefully we'll just get Carly.

Had a thought...

If human weapons are capable of damaging a Transformer, than it makes sense for the Decepticons (who are only on Earth in limited numbers) to assume Alt modes for hiding purposes.

I'm not talking about damage from hand-guns/rifles - but serious military weapons like tank shells, the big Gatling gun on a Warthog (those depleted uranium rounds can cause some serious damage to tanks after all), etc.

Neat...and I sorta like it...but then all it would take is an army ambush with those weapons and most of the 'Cons would be taken out of commission. Might be cool to see that happen to a bunch of "No-Named" 'Cons.

Plus if that was so...then the Autobots could just be shot up to hell, cause they'd try negotiating and wouldn't go for the gusto. Prime comes out to talk and gets shot up like a tin can from a tank...Autobots are Screwed!

I do think to a point a tank should be able to hurt them...but not kill them, unless just bombarded by like 5 tanks in rapid succession. Yet, for the most part I'd prefer it to be harder than that to take out a TF.

Umm.. Hot-Shot????

This movie is based upon G1 not ARMADA/ENERGON.

This movie is based upon G1 not ARMADA/ENERGON.

At one point on Don Murphy's website, Mr. Murphy posted a question asking if people would be upset if characters from other continutites were incorporated into the mix. It's been a while since I read it but it seemed that Hasbro were keen to incorporate Hot Shot into the movie as they feel kids relate to him (and this character would have been called Hot ROD in A/E if Hasbro could have secured this name/trademark for him). From a business standpoint it makes sense, Hasbro wants to attract kids to the movie, why put in a bunch of characters with whom they're not familiar - although perhaps Optimus Prime, Megatron and Starscream will be enough.

Personally, I wouldn't mine Hot Shot - I felt his character was pretty well done in Energon (and really in Armada he wasn't too different from the movie Hot Rod).

And to be honest, in G1 the characterizations of the more minor characters was so sparse and one-dimensional they're readily interchangable with some of the A/E characters with better characterization. Take for instance G1-Ratchet and A-First Aid - pretty much the same guy, but A-First Aid is much better developed. Also, I bet someone who had never seen Transformers would be hard pressed to tell the difference (by characterization) between G1-Sideswipe and E-Hot Shot. Both were played as seasoned warriors with a bit of hot-headedness about them. Shoot, even in G1 itself there were characters who were almost 100% interchangable, Tracks essentially became the Season 2 version of Sunstreaker.

To me, as long as the characters are well-written I don't really care what they're called, this is a re-introduction after all. It isn't going to be a live action version of MTMTE.

I would still prefer them to keep it close to the MTMTE episodes than mess it up by having a story focusing on the humans.

Um no offense but I'm not sure I'd want Mark Hamil to be the voice of Starscream. I'd want someone who can come close to sounding like Chris Latta without actually trying to rip off his charachter.
