Either go with they came millions of years ago (to fight Shockwave!)... Heres some brainstorming, maybe Shockwave fiddled with

Megatron's navigation systems resullting in him getting lost and trapped under the ice?

In that case I think Grimlock is enough. A whole unit of Dinobots might be overkill.

That or bring in Grimlock as some kind of really big Cybertronian tank. He could be one of those reinforcements thats only called in when there is no other viable option and disguise isn't particularly important.

heh?

An you would be having Games Workshop sueing Hasbro and the movie company over their Intellectual Property. I serious doubt that!

As to having the Dinobots in the movie.... unless they were the Dynabots from the comics, as miltary vehicles I can see it... but not as robotic dinosaurs.... I would start imaging MechaGodzilla or some Blot on screen.... Maybe have Grimlock a repaint of Brawl/davastator.

But as to the leadership of the Decepticons-

MY hope is for Galvatron to come looking for megatron remains!

Look familiar?

I didn't mean that tank in particular. Something like that, a big tank with lots of guns, add a big cannon and big f*ck off tank tracks.

He transformed into a MK1 in Dreamwave's Transformers/GI Joe crossover BTW

I voted robotic mechanical dinos but not like G1 more like TM2 Dinobot, and having them be skeletal in dino mode , and have their bony toes be the fingers. Kind of think Classics Grimlock if he was a skeleton, and instead of his hand being made visible by flipping his feet out of the way have the feet actually be his hands. Maybe have Swoop, and Slag too. But not all 5 at least not all 5 in their first appearance. I'm thinking that some humans are drilling like an oil rig or something and they disturb the Dinobots by accident and the Dinobots lead by Grimlock think it is an attack by the Decepticon they had been sent to fight. Then they surface and see these little beings that are no threat and lumber off in Dino bone mode to find the Decepticon they were sent after Magmatron.( He'll be all one bot but 3 separate dinos like in Beast Wars the Gathering. ) Spike sees them on the news and contacts Optimus back on Cybertron asking him to come and investigate he agrees and brings his soldiers from the first movie and a couple of new recruits. Then Starscream returns to earth to get all of the energon supply that we have out of our natural resources. To that end he has brought 6 of Cybertron's greatest scientists who have been working on a combination matrix but the reason he brought them was to design a way to collect energon, and they take construction vehicle forms to dig and work the elements into energon. He also brings his brothers Thundercracker, and Skywarp. Magmatron beats the crap out of Starscream and brings him into submission thus becoming the new leader of the Decepticons, and the war continues.

Magmatron ;)

I'm sorry, I'm not wanting to be a dick. I'm not going to give spoilers here, but I'm honestly glad some of that is not plausible for a movie sequel.

I think it would be redundant and pointless to have the Dinobots fighting Magmatron in the movie. I just can't see this working as a sequel story to this movie universe. I don't mind if they want to bring in non-G1 characters here and there, so that's not an issue. I just don't think this would work well in the movie universe. JMO.

Oh yeah that's right his name was Magmatron. Sorry I was really tired when I wrote this this morning. Anyways I don't see how it would make any difference who it was they came here to fight and what sense would it make if they came here to fight a guy who triple changes into a helicopter, and an artillery cannon back in the age of Dinosaurs. Besides that it gives you and enemy that is made up of 3 dinos and the Dinobots I mentioned are only 3 dinos. Also if you remember it would correspond with the Beast wars the Gathering comic since they had big Grim back in that time period in the comic, and yes it was definitely G1 Grim in that Dino's body since he said "Me Grimlock smash". I just thought that it would make sense if the guy they cam ehere to fight were this other TF that took prehistoric forms, and Magmatron is really kind of cool with the way he has 3 separate alt modes that form on bot. Also he could make a very convincing replacement for Megatron.

Although I am opposed to the inclusion of 'proper' Dinobots in the movie, the idea of a 6 dinosaur (okay actually 3 dinosaurs fighting one dinosaur, an elasmosaur and a pterosaur, just saying that before a fellow dino-nut jumps on me ;) ) showdown on the silver screen makes me whimper with desire.

Umm...I hate to say this RVTS, but

Optimus, Ratchet, Ironhide and Bumblebee don't go back to Cybertron. The planet is dead and with the Allspark gone, they have no reason to go back, but a message was sent out at the end of the book by Optimus telling any other TFs out there among the stars that they have a new home on Earth and that they're waiting for them. Also, the kids name is Sam. If you're wondering why I didn't include Jazz, well, he dies.

Now as for Magmatron, no. Just no. We don't need more than one gestalt type character in the film, no less two and on the same side no less.

Plus don't forget that in BW, the Grimlock toy while indeed a new version of G1 Grimlock, was G1 Grimlock's spark stored in a stasis pod waiting for him to be needed, and he was activated in "The Gathering" but only for a brief few minutes.

And another thing, we don't need the Dinobots to look skeletal. It'd just look kind of creepy. And I'm not talking in the manner of movie Megatron. I'm talking just plain wrong. Besides, all five or none for me.

i like them the way Grimlock appears in the sector 7 video.
