We have to all agree about Classics. Those look good, no matter who ya are. I can't wait to start seeing those on shelves.

acctually, I've seen a few people Starscreaming about the classics line.

I think they want a line of mini masterpieces.

my little brother is pissed because optimus doesn't have a trailer to combine with.

I did want a transforming roller to go with the trailer..

but im sure its not healthy to get so worked up about it. it does take two to argue. and your kind of just prepetuating it at this point im sure. youll get an ulcer that way.

I love G1, and I really like the homages in A/E/C. Personally I have very little to no interest in Beast Wars, and the Beast Planet dudes from Cybertron bore the hell out of me. But then again I've never been a fan of superheroes that turn into animals either. Maybe it's an extension of that.

My 2 cents...

I define "Gee-Wunners" as those people who may have played with Transformers and/or watched the TV show (but NEVER read the comics) back in the 80s and gave up any vestige of Transfandom around 1986 and never thought about Transformers ever since... until around 2003. Now they're like, "zOMG! Transformers are FTW!" and they go around spending all this money on hunting down G1 figures and reissues - Starscreaming about missing the early reissues because they hadn't cared about Transformers since Michael Jackson was black and Boy George wasn't making lame attempts to grab media attention whilst serving a court sentence.

These people have a very superficial knowledge of Transformers overall, with their knowledge base centred primarily around the G1 cartoon. (cos ya know, forget about the Marvel TF comics, despite the fact that the comics came first and long outlasted the TV series)

To me - and I confess that this is JMO - "Gee Wunners" are posers.

The true fans are the long term die-hard ones who have stuck by Transformers since 1984 and have remained loyal to the franchise ever since. We are the ones who grew up knowing who Primus was long before his name was recycled in TF Cybertron. For me, the true fans are the ones who have lived out Simon Furman's edict, "it never ends" (1991)

perhaps i may have given off the stench of gewunerism in the past few movie news threads, but im not. only time i wasnt buying tfs was between g2 and bw. just for the record.

*thinking about it now*

those arent posers. the people youll see walking around the mall in a autobot shirt after seeing the movie in a years time will be the posers.

Personally I wasn't a fan of the Marvel comic. The cartoon was badly written and riddled with plot holes, but i still love it. The comic I can mostly pass other then a few storylines. Did I read it during its run yes, did I care enough to keep those comics with the rest of my collection, not really. To me Transformers has always been about the toys and I don't really give a damn about the fiction, because like any long running Sci Fi its riddled with retcons, plotholes, and so many different continuities that in reality thier really isn't any continuity.

My personl believe is that Prime and Megatron/Galvatron need to be killed off permantanly and let rest, and that Hasbro needs to start from scratch with new characters. I'm tired of the constant retreads that we get every year. I loved G1, but its over and it needs to stay over so that some innovation can take place and hte series cna evolve more.

how can there be so much want for change and yet so much hatred for bm? wonder why hasbro is keeping things nice and g1ish? they got death threats when they aired bm.

the fact is it doesnt matter what happens. its not like there wont be Starscreaming. for every fan thats happy, theres a fan thats pissed. thatll never change.

I think the biggest problem with BM is it was too soon. BW was hammered at release, but the writing and the quality quickly won alot of people over. Then jsut when they've gotten used to BW they go to BM and its another radical shift in pretty much everything. Considering the number of people who have come out saying how much they love BM since it went to DVD alot of people have finally gotten used to that too.

Gradual change is a good thing, but Hasbro has this problem with either stagnating or trying to move to fast.
