ROTF Constructicons

Recommended Posts

He just came in yesterday. Wow, what a total hunk of junk... :tfpuke

Any chance of you keeping him?

Definitely. My 4-year-old loves him :) And it'll be fun trying to improve it.

:thumb good to read, if you do improve him sharing pics would be nice.

Damnit.

I'm sitting here with Rampage, Mixmaster (my own personal god, MIXMASTER), Long Haul and Demolishor, and I find myself sickened by how much Hasbro and the Bayverse dropped the motherfucking ball on this one. The Constructicon figures released thus far are--each and every one of them--superior to every ROTF Decepticon figure released thus far outside of Voyager Megatron--and I don't think Voyager Megs is better than either Mixmaster OR Long Haul.

That they were not ALL given a toy representation--whether or not the figures could combine--is an error of the most irredeemable variety on the part of Hasbro.

That the Constructicons themselves were given no personalities or true identities in the movie itself disgusts me to no end.

It is incredible and depressing to me that such creative designs, with so much potential both on-screen and in toy form, are treated as only afterthoughts.

Had the movie Constructicons been G1-like, in behavior that is, I think that Hasbro would have had to make all of them as toys. There probably wouldn't be a Supreme Devastator as well. It's likely that there would have been at least a Deluxe class combiner set.

Good damn point, Mike! :thumb

Sorry, I got lost in this one...who's he? :shrug

The "he" we are referring to is supreme Devastator, shockingly its disappointing, but the 4 year old loves him, so its not a huge waste. :)

^Thanks for the clarification, Blackout.

Yeah, everytime I see this hunker in the store, I just sigh...b/c it doesn't look, pose, function, live up to the monster that was in the movie. :shrug

And I agree, the light/sound gimmick is definitely a sacrificial element...I'd much rather have accuracy over "I AM DEVASTATOR!!!" :puke

Something that is kind of nice is that Scavenger's shovel and Mixmaster's front (from his windshield to the grill) are easily removable. This helps the look of it some, especially the back of the head.

And he doesn't look as boxy as the pics would suggest. It's just that there are angled pieces behind and under his shoulders that block out the rest of the body in side view.

There, I feel a little better after looking on the bright side :)

I can't tell you how disappointed I am that this thing is so horrid. I really wanted to get him and display him with my G1 devestators. The lower costs of things help a little - but id be willing to overpay for something that was actually worth a damn (hence why I collect the MP's as well). I know all the photos have been horrid. I havn't seen it in person yet.

The biggest thing to me - is watching you get so excited about finding it for $60 -- it arriving - and then "man, this thing sucks." *heavy sigh* Surely there is some more bright sides?? Comeon man, sell me!! I want to buy it so bad!! LOL

Jezz Hasbro really screwed up.

It's funny, because TO ME, they did the same thing back in the 80's. Year 1 - AWESOME!! Year 2 - quality downgraded; plastic gets neon-ish and lower quality; overproduction of characters and imho stupid characters (submarines, ufo's, insects, etc). Business decisions and corportate greed began destroying TFers (for me) in year 2. Here in ROTF - it's happening all over again. I just wish they could have gotten the constructicons right and screwed up on some other figures more instead. *sigh*

:love A whole lotta kickass going on right there.

Yep, those look like they'd be fun to have had. Can't see how they wouldn't bring alot of character to any collection shelf!!!

Im not fond of Hightower's goofy tread legs. They dont look like they could support his weight at all. Would've looked better if they actually turned into legs of some sort

I think folding in half, similar to Meg's treads, might suffice. :shrug
