ROTF Constructicons

Recommended Posts

Hey, just looking around this afternoon and found this guy over at transformerland.com making a pro-active effort to combine these Constructicons using a FAB Long Haul & an Armada Landmine (at least I think that's Armada, right?).

Bravo...enjoy!

That's just ROTF Rampage. Armada had a bulldozer guy named Scavenger, Landmine wasn't introduced until Energon.

You didn't look at page 2 of the thread, did you? The first page shows ROTF voyager Demolisher, FAB Long Haul, and (yes) deluxe Rampage. But page 2 of the thread shows Cybertron Landmine and RID Heavy Load figures being used (finally noticed the series of each):

Nice find! I might have to dig out my Heavyload...

I just bought my "Scrapper" the other day, but haven't taken it out of the box yet...

Are you using Landmine as well?

No, I got some non-Transformer construction toy. It was only about $11 but looks like the right size. It isn't very detailed (made more for younger kids), but I can always give it to my kids if I find a better one...

I'm also looking for suitable substitutes...but I'm thinking, these will be a much bigger project to take on than creating a customized Devastator with the ROTF figures! May just have to settle for individually displaying the 4 released figures...I refuse to buy that giant ugly hunk o' plastic. :damnit

Missed that page two. That's Cybertron Landmine and he doesn't mesh very well with the movie guys. The look is off. RiD Heavy Load doesn't look to bad though.

^ I agree, trying to match A/E/C figures with movie figures is just not gonna happen very well. They're gonna require lots of modification to even attempt to reach a movie aesthetic.

I'm planning on using both. I don't think it'll be too much tougher. I think I can just stick the vehicles on for arms just like I would have done if they made the actual toys of them...

I'd still like to somehow customize the remaining few Constructicons, primarily Scrapper & Hightower...then attempt to create a combiner from there. I picked up an extra Rampage, and was trying to figure out if I could create a Scrapper figure from him...but I think it'd actually be easier to create Hightower from him (maybe flip him around backwards & attach a crane boom :shrug). But that still leaves Scrapper up in the air... :schin

I'm thinking it might be possible to create an Overload from a Long Haul figure since their truck bodies are pretty much identical except for the dump beds which form the arms on both characters. You could probably replace the rigid dump bed with an articulated assembly designed to transform into the longer arms of Overload, and design them to form the attachment points for Long Haul and Rampage in their leg mode, thus forming the lower torso of Devastator.

^ Hmmm :schin...nice idea, Tramp. :thumb
