Leader Jetfire

Recommended Posts

Anyone know when this guy is supposed to start making appearances on the shelf. I'm contemplating pre-ordering him from BBTS, but I'm really really hesitant cause it's almost $25 more than the retail price. And that doesn't include shipping. But I'm really looking forward to him.

Wait!

BBTS is great but VERY over priced...

You can do it... You have the strength...

I'm gonna pass on JF...

Leader Prime is enough for me...

I heard August, but I expect to see it within a month.

Eh, just spend the time getting use to changing OP back and forth, by the time JF get's here, you'll go bonkers learning his forms and the combined form of Supa Dupa "I'M CHARGIN' MAH LAZAH" OP & JF. :rofl

:argh I was hoping to see pictures of him

Jetfire will be available soon. Sooner than August, for sure. They'll want to release him near the movie's release so he's fresh in people's minds and has an easier time selling.

BBTS's price is not only terrible and uncalled for ($25.00 more than what the figure's worth? Really?) but it's just highway robbery.

There is absolutely no need to raise his price to that level. It's disgusting.

Problem is, we keep helping them with it. If we stop paying their ridiculous prices, they'll start cutting them.

Yes, it's true that they're a smaller company than Wal-Mart, Target, etc...so they can't get the bulk discounts the big guys do. It's also true that they need to make enough of a profit so they can pay for their facility, their employees and so on.

It's also true that they mark up these ridiculous prices so they have nicely padded wallets when it's all said and done.

I don't mind people making a profit out of business, that's the point, but there's no need to make a profit to this extent.

$25 more is too much, especially when it comes to an item that will be sold in stores. You're better off just waiting and finding it at a retail store. In most cases, you might even find it before BBTS gets their shipment in. Which will not only save you $25 + shipping, but also 1-2 weeks.

Hell, sometimes even three weeks.

And we can't forget, fellow board members. Some locations get figures long before others do, and most board members are willing to help their fellow fans with just the store and shipping costs covered, or $5-10.00 extra for gas and convenience.

Still a hell of a lot cheaper than BBTS's ridiculous pricing.

I agree about BBTS being a rip off. They are respected as an online seller but I believe the term is "rape dollars"

Now yes they are a "small" organization but so's the independant toy store across town from me who's only $5 more then regular retail on leaders. I'm also sure they have a higher overhead cost being a "real" fully staffed store.

Honestly, I won't buy anything due for retail from them and have been using RK for imports as even after overseas shipping is applied, they still average less then BBTS's starting price.

every now and then I'll entertain a sale price, but even still, I'm tending to use them less and less...

And the shitty part of their sales deals is...the packages are usually scratch and dent, or close to destroyed. A friend of mine (back when I was on the ALLSpark) ordered a set of Insecticons from them during one of their many and varied sales, and he was expecting top notch service considering it was BBTS.

....oh how wrong he (and I) both were. The front of the box had rips on the artwork and labels, the plastic window was chewed up, and even had a small hole in one spot. (Yet the shipping carton surrounding it was in excellent condition with one small ding on the one corner. You know for sure the item inside wasn't harmed by that.) He complained and they basically said for him to send it back, yada, yada, but the replacement wouldn't be much better.

Their sales are to clear out stock that doesn't sell (like the odd lines they carry, stuff most of us haven't heard of, or even care about), and sub-collector packaged items, all the way to fully damaged packaging.

I'm not a prissy bitch when it comes to packaging, simply because I'm a figure collector and the boxes will quickly meet their demise once my treasures are freed from their plastic and cardboard prisons. However, I do like to look at it before it goes in the trash. I like to soak in the experience before tearing the figure out. (Especially Japanese packaging. I loooove it.)

My friend, however, is a MISB collector, along with loose and complete. (And he's not a prissy bitch about these things. He just demands quality when paying a high price, and no one can blame him.) So to have BBTS sell him something like that after years of faithful service...was a kick in the nuts, really.

I bought a Galaxy Force Megatron from them, during the same sale, and my box had been opened and resealed, twice! Even the paperwork was strewn about the box. Not to mention, it was dinged, crinkled, and less than nice. (and I like to keep Japanese packing if possible.) The figure itself, seemed untouched, but it was clearly opened several times, and I paid for a SEALED, brand new figure. To me, once the packaging has been opened, it's no longer new. (and I wouldn't market it that way to others, either.)

So just be prepared folks. When you're buying into one of their sales, you might be getting a lot less than you'd expect.
