I'm so glad I read this discussion. I just ordered Jetfire from Amazon. He'll be delivered on Friday! YES! I can't wait to have the 2 combined.

Got him in today. He's such an impressive figure. He's absolutely massive in jet mode, he's awesome on the cane (and it rocks), and the combined mode is just too much of a mess to deal with. Chipped the paint I put on my Optimus (so now I have to do it all over again).

 

Jetfire Prime (or whatever the hell his official name is) is just unposable, top heavy (falls forward, you'd think he'd fall backward...no.), and his connector pieces are just way too tight. Way too tight.

 

Skip the combined mode, stick with the others. He's an awesome figure.

I have Amazon Prime (free 2-Day shipping, $3.99 overnight. I paid the $3.99)

those pieces aren't bad at all

 

He's right. For the most part, the combining pieces do not get in the way.

 

The crotch plate that attaches to Prime, actually folds down against Jetfire's chest, so it's not a problem.

 

Jetfire's arms become the shoulder armor, and they're posable so they're not a problem.

 

The rubber belt is a nuisance. The pieces flop around, they're tight (which will lead to breakage. Why rubber?) They'll dry rot over time! What a stupid, stupid cost cutting measure. The pieces are a true pain in the ass to figure out in vehicle mode. Robot mode, I just let 'em dangle, or attach them to one another behind his back.

 

But they're not enough to sink the figure. He's well worth the $45.00 for the robot mode and the amazing size of the vehicle mode. (Massive. Just...massive.)

don't be that glad.. he's going to be in stores everywhere within a week or two for the same price. ($44)
