Animated Wheeljack and Perceptor character models.

And I consider the Transformer Fandom as a whole lucky to have such a broad range of options (whereas if you collect something like Masters of the Universe or TMNT your options are severely limited).

Totally! I love the TMNT show but don't care for the toys. I prefer Marvel Legend posability, but I only collect a few of those. If they made TMNT toys as detailed and articulated as ML I would be buying practically everyone!

FYI http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/bbts/product...amp;mode=retail

He has an entire shelf of TF:TM toys with a heavy emphasis on Galvatron/Cyclonus/Scourge/Rodimus...

BTW, Safegaurd (jet fire and storm) looks pretty good on his desk...plus he has a freaking Dai Atlus figure...too damn cool

I see Grandus, but not Dia Atlas?

Hobbes you mother-f-ing ROCK!!! That's what that is!!!

Sooo, who's that purple guy on the bottom left-hand corner there?

Looks like Ultra Magnus.

I'd have to say Magnus too!!!

! And it all comes together....

How can you guys even follow the order of the dialogue? Guhh I hate comics.

The right-most quarter of the image is the next page. You can see the "fold" in the middle. Ignore that and it's top-down, left to right. Pretty simple, really.

So, leaving my retardedness aside, are they saying that Jetfire/Jetstorm were originally Decepticons and got (essentially) brainwashed / reprogrammed by the Autobots?

I think they're introducing experimental Decepticon code into their systems. They're special because they're twins apparently.

I believe what they're saying is that they didn't realize that the one guy was actually two guys. Sounds like they captured Safeguard and realized that he was actually Jetfire and Jetstorm (or whatever they would have originally been called).

As for the code thing... I'm unclear as to why Autobots would be programming anyone with Decepticon code. But then that's what happens when you have no context, I guess.

Ummm... here's my useless Transformers trivia goodness. This isn't the first time that the Autobots have done this. They haven't obviously done this in Animated, but way back in the 80's there was this little problem the Autobots had in the original Marvel comic. That problem was Devastator... should I slow down for everyone who hasn't read the G1 comic yet. Anyway around the middle to late teens in the Marvel series. The Autobots were beginning to see the ramifications of the gestault Devastator and knew that in order to compete, they had to "steal" the combining process from the Decepticons. Enter the Aerialbots!!!

Perceptor is friggin :win

Its good to see Wheeljack again as Wheeljack and not Downshift. But I dunno. I'm not feeling this design so much. Well, I suppose the original didn't give away much about him being a scientist anyway.. but this one definetly looks like he's gonna smack some cons around. Like a Robotic Mr T or something.. ...

No wonder I can't help but make a Barret Reference with the guy..

I'm not getting this complaint at all?

The original Wheeljack was totally stocky!! His voice was also much more lumberjack than it was science nerd.... :shrug

I think both of these guys look AMAZINGLY Geewunn akur8. As LMH has said - TFA is giving us the G1 CARTOON Characters we all remember as opposed to the G1 Cartoon as it actually was.

What I mean was his original design and alt mode didn't give away the fact that he was actually a scientist.. ya know. In in Animated they try to make the characters look and feel their roles.. Prime = Superman .. Prowl is all skinny and such.. he's a ninja.. Bulkhead is insanely beefy with a tiny ass head, and he's the strong man.. you catch my drift? This Wheeljack, and the Wheeljacks before him give no such inclinations to his personality. G1 Perceptor turns into a microscope.. makes him a scientist.. G1 Ratchet turns into an ambulence - He's a Doctor..

Animated Wheeljack looks like he's gonna say "Quiet foo!" and throw a grenade down someone's throat.. it's just how he's drawn. He doesn't LOOK at all like he's got a brilliant mind tucked away (but neither did Rhinox for that matter...) where as Perceptor looks like he can lift rocks with his mind. And it fits his personality.

And.. thats not so much a complaint, I'm just pointing out the design. They took a bit too much liberty with Wheeljack's G1 design rather than his actual occupation. I have no trouble at all with a Mr T Wheeljack. :tfgrin I think it would be awesome, despite it's probably not going to happen.

About the comic... it seemed to me that Jetfire and Jetstorm are Autobots who volunteered to get Decepticon code to give them flight modes, which no other Autobots had at this point.

And much, much more importantly, Wheeljack used Perceptor as a microscope.

If he gets a toy, I'm buying him. Awful head or not.

Perceptor is friggin :win

What exactly was Wheeljack's occupation in G1? I thought he was pretty much a mechanic / crazy inventor. What "body type" do people like that have?
