Back to G1 cartoon suckage. My friend was harping on me for not liking Anime and he was like "So what? Is transformers awesome?" And I'm all "Dude, except for Beast Wars and the new show, Transformers is horrible for the most part." then he looked all sad because he likes the G1 cartoons.

There are episodes that I still like. But there are a lot more that I'm crossing off the list one by one.

 

 

I still like G1, not for the writing or animation quality, but for nostalgic sentimental reasons.

 

It reminds me of being a little kid.

Oh I'm all about the nostalgia. But I've been going through G1 episodes and... well, some of them just don't hold up on any level. It's like I remembered something that wasn't there, or maybe I was just really into it at the time and overlooked things, or...

 

 

well anyway I watched "Thief in the Night" yesterday and holy shiiiiiiiiit no wonder Casey Kasem quit. I mean, damn.

The four that bother me are renames:

 

- Silverstreak

- Animated Snarl

- Classics (and possibly Animated) Rodimus

- Universe Tankor

I could be wrong, but IIRC Bluestreak's name change to Silverstreak had more to do with the fact that he had no blue on him then it had to do with licencing.

FYI, I think Silverstreak is actually an improvement. I can't call him Bluestreak anymore and not feel like it's forced.

Ok, I can’t believe I am the first to say this but, Headmasters!

 

I know why they call them this and it was ok when I was a kid.

 

But as an adult I think of porn every time I hear the name and I’m not the only one.

 

Go to a Video store and ask for Headmasters Volume 1 or 2 or whatever and they will send you to the back room or say Sir we don’t rent that kind of filth here.LOL
