Well, it was in Spotlight:Mirage, and thus both AU and automatically incredibly awesome, like every other panel in the entire damn book. <3 It actually made me wince and go "S-soundwave?!" and get misty-eyed over a favorite character!

Eh, we can all take solace in the fact that it only happened in Mirage's dream sequence, and given that this particular issue established that Mirage is batshot insane, I wouldn't read to much into it.

I figure any Japanese (or other non-English) name gets immunity because hey, let's face it, the names were slapped together to sell toys in the relevant country, not to translate well for English-speaking fans.
