Some people view "Black anything" as racist

White Chromia, Blue Bacchus and Red Alert would like a word. :)

smurfist? :P

cliff jumper it sounds like an autobot that wants to comit suicide by jumping off a cliff

I always assumed it was a reference to his rash personality-- that he's the kind of guy who would jump over a cliff without checking how long he'd fall. :tflaugh Personally, I like it-- but I like Cliffy a lot in general, so I might just be biased~

The Transformers names that bother me, well there are too many, since the birth of the BEAST WARS series through the latter Galaxy Force.

Why did Hasbro & Takara re-cycled several names from former G1 characters and reassigned them to new figures instead of creating new original names?; I believe that's what has been the MAIN problem with so many Universes, contradictory stories and et al.

Just take a look to all the G1 toys and only just a few have "doubled" their designated names. Even when back then there were up to 350 aprox. figs. in the G1 series which was composed of 8 or so "seasons" (in the U.S. and Japan simultaneously).

And now since the Beast Wars, how many Bonecrushers, Jetstorms, Skydives, Overrides, Cyclonus, Scourges, Prowls, Sideswipes, Mirages, Hoists, Ironhides, Scavengers, Blurrs and several others are there?

Some names are really ...dull... like Rattrap, or Terrorsaur, or Tarantulas, ¿¿¿Dinobot??? or even Optimus Primal. Waaay back in the 80's, a name tried to match the personality of the 'bot or 'con, but now they use them to match what, TRADEMARKS?, Physical appearances?.

I hope that if Hasbro just keep using the prefix Autobot....Decepticon...Maximal...Predacon.... to solve their TM or Copyrighted names, then there would not be anymore confusions with future releases of old timers like SLAG or BOMBSHELL; just remember how it used to be:

Bumblebee<=>Goldbug/Goldback

Soundwave<=>Soundblaster

Blaster/Broadcast<=>Twincast

for examples. :tflol

Megatron?

Really any robot name with "tron" as a suffix is instantly lame, but putting "Mega" in front of it makes 10^6 times goofier.

Yes! How dare Hasbro/TT base their decision to assign names to figures on what makes good business or marketing sense. What are they? Companies interested in making money? For shame!

Burn them all, I say.

Like Hun-Grr, Sinnertwin, Blot, Rippersnapper, Weirdwolf, Fangry, and Horri-bull are shining examples of good naming. :roll (the hell are these things, gobots?)At least Beast Wars characters actually had a personality, rather than a 2 dementional presentation and all that.

Well, at least those "names" you refer to weren't re-cycled for the Beast Wars or after, So they still stay faithful original to their former characters.

Well at least by now. :tfpwn

By the way, i don't think this guy could be like a GoBot or lesser, in anyway!
