Minority Report

I'd say it's synthetic. Otherwise we'd see lots of blood or bug fluid each time a BW TF was injured, maimed etc. in the show, but we never do.

US shows almost never shows never show blood.

the interwebs are such a great equalizer... your secret shame is no longer secret or shameful (to you anyway) because you can find 100 other people just as weird as yourself :tflaugh

which is to say, I'm glad for my Beast Machines buddies...

My secret shame is that I never really liked Optimus Prime all that much. I never got it. Same for Megatron, but I've expressed that sentiment before. For me, what I appreciate about them is more their iconic status than anything I actually like about either character. I never really felt like TF:TM got moving until after Prime was killed and Megatron was awsum-ified.

US shows almost never shows never show blood.

They could still show bug fluid or some other kind of 'alien/mech' blood - something to indicate that she's organic. Transformers has got to be one of the single most violent kids cartoons around! Because our main characters are robots, not people or animals, writers can impose incredible amounts of ultra-violence upon them and still keep within a G/PG rating! If half the stuff that happened to Waspinator* were to ever happen to a person it'd be rated R. It happens in ultra-violent animé (which even in Japan children aren't supposed to watch) but rarely in Western cartoons.

*btw Beast Wars is Canadian. Just a friendly reminder that the US and Japan aren't the only countries that make animations. :)

Oh for god's sake, it's cartoon violence. Go watch some Looney Tunes sometime.

On-topic: I'm pretty sure I'm in the minority in that I am a big fan of deluxe Beast Machines Optimus Primal.

I loved that toy. I liked him even more when they repackaged him into that "bowling" pose... :lol :thumb

And I love Energon Prime. And no, it wasn't one of those things where he grew on more, or I learned to like him... loved the toy the first moment I laid eyes on him. :pbj :luv :win

Loved the Bay movie. Still hate the character designs.

I never really agreed with the whole "more joints is better" idea for figures. I find the more joints there are, the harder it is to move one without accidentally moving all of them.

woohoo, confessions!!!!

i read through to page 4 and skipped the last two >_>

i haven't liked many tf series'. just g1 and galaxy force.

I fargING LIKE TITANIUM SOUNDWAVE!

i don't want unicron included in the tf movie

i'm RIR/FIB

i have urges to buy toys i know to be rare to resale, i have yet to give in to those urges though.

i don't entirely hate animated. i still don't like the whole super hero aspect of it, but it's not nearly as annoying when there is minimal human intervention (read, no human villians).

i was a movie doubter.

i can listen to the score for the 80's movie and see the film in my head.

also, while i can't recite it by memory, i can just about recite the entire movie (80's) while watching it.

misb collectors get on my nerves

i have intentionally damaged toy cards to thwart scalping (not major, just enough to piss off the scalpers)

EDIT

Actually the CGI was bloody good for its time (for a TV series - remember that they have much smaller budgets than feature movies). Won an Emmy Award for it too.

it was still crap despite being "good for it's time" i realized that then and my position hasn't changed since. the cg of that era wasn't good enough for an entire show to be cg.

also, another confession, despite having read the entire idw tf cataloge, i only physically own one comic and it was included with the movie.

I'm sure almost everyone here would agree with your sentiment, but sgt___york was speaking from a censorship/ratings POV. Regardless of what he or anyone feels about animated violence, it's true that there are laws that dictate how violence can be portrayed in cartoons - both Western and Japanese (although laws vary between countries). It's such laws that saw Beast Wars being called "Beasties" in its native Canada. :roll

And wasn't it also toy-violence laws or something that saw BT Overdrive's gun being neutered into a "scanner" for Alternator Windcharger and Decepticharge?

But yeah, the views and opinions expressed by certain censorship boards and P&C groups do not necessarily reflect the opinions of myself, sgt___york or any other Transfan. :) (/DVD commentary disclaimer)

Then there's this guy:

No, that was Honda's USA branch not liking the idea of "their" toy carrying a gun.
