Like Blackula is a black repaint of Dracula?

And I know a lot of people really hate/dislike G1 Megatron, but me on the other hand, well, just check out the sig. I'm sure I could go further, but that's what comes to mind right off the top of my head.

 

You're not alone. I like G1 Megatron despite all the flaws of his characterizations, and stuffs. I like ALL Megatrons >>>>>>>>> Phraime. :argh

 

I mean, srsly, look...

 

Walther P-38, T-rex, Dragon, H-Tank, Cybertronian Jet (TF Energon), Race car of Doom (TF Cybertron), Six-to-Ten Alt Mode Changers (RID), Grand Mal (BM), Cybertronian Jet again (2007 Movie), and still heck loads of other alt-modes for Lord Megatron (yep he deserves the title "Lord" in equal to Autobots' "Prime"). More variations, creativity, joys, collectible, than having to collect all-red, all-masked, all-windshield-chested, all-wise, all-truck(and a some munky)... boring. :redface

I like Ultra Magnus as a white Prime repaint, 99% of the time the UM paint job is just as good, or better, then the OP paint job.

 

I thought the Cybertron space cube thing from the G2 toon was cool.

 

I like Dreadwing and Overcast, the two lense head Seekers/drones from the movie line.

 

I love movie Leader Megatron (Premium version PWNS).

 

Ultra Magnus and Jetfire are my two favourite Autobots, ahead of the big OP himself.

 

I actually enjoyed the Armada cartoon :duck

 

I think Gary Chalk's Optimus is better then Peter Cullen's Optimus.

 

I find the Dinobots annoying, even when they're written at their best.

 

But I like the Classics Grimlock figure.

 

I love Classics Cliffjumper as he is. No head remoulding needed

 

I like both Cybertron Soundwave and Universe Blaster.

 

"Senator Ratbat" was the best take on the character yet.

I think Gary Chalk's Optimus is better then Peter Cullen's Optimus.

I told him as much once. This was at a convention when the movie was in production and they still didn't know who the VAs were. It was a Beast Wars 10th Anniversary panel with him, Scott McNeil and Alec Willows and someone asked if they had been contacted to be in the movie. It was the usual "Yeah, we haven't been asked yet, but we'd do it in a heartbeat" thing, and Chalk mentioned the "rumor" (at the time) that Cullen was voicing Prime. He said he wouldn't mind doing another character at all. I told him "I grew up during G1, but as far as I'm concerned...you...ARE...OPTIMUS PRIME!" I wanted it to sound all cool and stuff, but it sounded more like that guy from That Thing You Do when he meets Del Paxton and says "You are my biggest fan!"

It may have reeked of nerdiness and stuff, but it's still awesome. Cullen's fantastic considering his take on the character, but at their best, I have to go with Chalk.

i too like Gary Chalk more then Cullen, i like David Kaye more then Cullen.

 

oh, and i cant stand Welker as megatron. David kaye is much better, and even Hugo Weaving was better.

 

i enjoyed RID and Armada.

i believe that armada megs is the best megatron of all time

I think the G1 Megatron toy is one of the best G1 figures available. It was just so ingenious in design and transformation.

 

And David Kaye is the superior Megatron voice in my mind, too.

 

As for that previous comment about the fandom not being able to handle a series without Prime and Megatron- that's absolutely true. That would actually turn me off entirely. I was disgusted that it took so long for Megatron to join the scene in Energon. A new cast sounds good on paper, but loses a lot of its soul in execution. See the lackluster Victory, Masterforce, and Zone series for reference.*

 

*And don't chew me out for not liking those series. I know they have devout followers, but I always thought they were boring and uninteresting. Headmasters, however, was tolerable because it had a strong cast.
