JizaiToys PowerGlide

Recommended Posts

Transformers is a brand name. This Powerglide is just as much of a Transformer as any KO you find, or any kitbash. Whether you consider those Transformers or not is up to you.

Hot Rod is getting overly worked up in semantics, and winds up severely wounding his point.

In the end, Hot Rod doesn't want this item, because it's not official (but it isn't a KO, mind you), other people might. Just let it rest.

you assume i have a point other than model tfs that aren't licensed and sell for hundreds of dollars are mega ghey and should be frowned upon by the fandom in general.

OMG. Someone is Wrong! We have to educate him immediately, or the Internet will break in half!

Are you kidding? This is the stuff that keeps it together.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Counterfeit
A counterfeit is an imitation that is made usually with the intent to deceptively represent its content or origins. The word counterfeit most frequently describes forged currency or documents, but can also describe clothing, software, pharmaceuticals, watches, or more recently, cars and motorcycles, especially when this results in patent infringement or trademark infringement.

Except that this particular version of Powerglide doesn't try to "deceptively represent" anything. That mold is 100% original.

It's infringing on a greedy company's legal license... for toys that they can't accurately reproduce and therefore sell substandard crap... that some people will apparently buy religiously regardless of how inaccurate the translation is from art to mold.

Meanwhile, there are a small number of people who are willing to put the time in to create something that is a true testament to the original design. Damn them. Damn them counterfeiters all to hell. And while we're at it, damn all the companies that sell every other patented piece of whatever out there legally by making one or two minor changes to avoid "infringement".

I could sculpt an imaginary truck out of cow feces, but if I wanted to call it Optimus Prime it would immediately become TRADEMARK INFRINGEMENT.

Yup, but unless Hasbro previously produced your Cow Feces Prime before you did, it wouldn't be a knockoff since such figure never existed.

yeah, i'm sure that they were sitting around thinking of awesome characters to make and powerglide friggen came up. These guys are in it for the money as much as Hasbor/takara whatever, that's the only way to explain the $200- $500 price tag.

So doing it right is mega ghey... but doing it the way Hasbro does (quick, cheap, and sloppy)... that's awesomeji1.gif?

Come on... let's here it. BINGO!!

Someone is delusional.

What I'm saying is that your overly simplistic and ignorant analysis does nothing to help your credibility.

I'll just pretend you never wrote that.

so you won't have to argue the point?

You are correct, sir!

Overly simplistic = reducing Hasbro's entire business model to "producing cheap crap"

Ignorant = Pascal doesn't work at Hasbro

Credibility = lowered

It's only trolling if it's not true :)

Just for fun, ask the guy from tfw2005 that developped his own Hearts of Steel Optimus Prime how much money he had to invest from his own pocket to make it reality. Or Anemis how much money he spent developping his own MP Magnus trailer, his MP Megatron, etc. Or the guy who produced the transforming MP Arcee.

Hey, who's that character in your avatar? Some character perhaps devised by a philantropical company that lives on love and would happily design and pay for figures you can later make money from becaue they love you?

The price tag is based on the time and work that goes into making a higher quality product. Not some stamped out piece of garbage.

That's why you pay more for a Mercedes than you do for a Hyundai.

Blotting on a guy for taking what is more than likely >10x more time and effort than the modelers at Hasbro is insane.
