And there was much re-jazzing

Huh. If this pans out, it's a really stupid idea (unless it's flashbacks and the like).

I guess we'll find out in 2009 (2010?)

Everyone seems to be forgetting one of the major impacts of Jazz's death. EVERYONE had fallen in love with the guy and when he is shouting "Wanna peice of me" the audience is lulled into a false sense of security "its a kids movie they wont kill the cool guy" "NO I WANT *RIP* TWO" gives the "oh crap ANYTHING could happen" .
FYI if we think about it a bit, "flashbacks" make no sense, since we're talking about the actor who did his Earth voice.
Actually that makes perfect sense, the human voices in the Autobots in flashbacks could show that Decepticon and Autobot are two distinct language forms and not only that but it would add the extra mystique to the D-Cons.

We've already heard the Cybertronian language. They're not going to speak English on their home planet.

If they bring Jazz back no one will care. Why? Because hey, if they can bring Jazz back, why not Bumblebee?

You just can't compare a death like that to the way Jazz died. Jazz's death had no impact on the plot, Bumblebee's death would have an impact. If the death had no impact then neither would the resurrection. Now had Jazz died a major heroic death and they brought him back anyway, that would do a lot more to undermine the seriousness of death in the movie universe. Besides, the reason it's so easy to believe that Jazz could be resurrected is because he was only ripped in half so his body is relatively intact. If he blew up and only a few little scorched pieces remained, then there would be no reasonable way he could be brought back. Like wise, if Bumblebee sacrificed himself in such a way that his body was totally destroyed, then the audience would understand that he is gone for good and cannot be resurrected.

The lack of emotion regarding Jazz's death DOESN'T MATTER. He's still dead, and that means that bringing him back to life sets the precedent that any dead TFer can be brought back, cheapening the emotional impact of future deaths.

Except for the line "We lost Jazz, Prime, we couldn't save him."

That established Jazz's death for sure, if being ripped in half by Megatron didn't send that message.

Besides, here's a practical reason to keep Jazz dead; it opens up a roster spot on the 'Bot team. I'm sure Hasbro's more interested in selling a Movie Hot Rod or Ultra Magnus figure then a fifth Jazz toy.

And yeah, Lord Madhammer's right. As far as viable TF baddies go, it's Megatron or Galvatron (who's basically Megs anyway) or bust. Starscream works only as an "interim" leader, between Megs' death and revival.

Yeah, Shockwave, Ratbat, and Thunderwing lead the Decepticons in the comics. To the general audience, however, Megatron's the only viable full-time 'Con leader.

I thought Prime should have ripped him in half for saying "What's crackin' Lil' Protectobots" and ruining the movie.

Agreed. And also agreed about having him come back unless he's a flashback ruining any semblence of value to the characters..

The best way to do it would be to have Prime use the fragment of the allspark on him, but Jazz himself to protest saying that by bringing him back to life, he's going against the natural order of things.

this would lead to the decepticons trying to get it and the situation develops from there

Well - not to be ghey, but I didn't mean Cybertron flashbacks...I meant flashbacks of "stuff we didn't see happening on Earth" with the Autobots. I know it sounds UBER GHEY, cause it is and would totally suck ass, but I was thinking that it could happen...yeah I know, sucks.

:blaugh

Maybe they could have a flashback scene where they're all driving along that highway and Jazz is like "hey you guys wanna hear my subwoofers?" and they're all like :roll

I'm still pissed that the porn rock tune from G1 didn't make it into the movie BTW

I agree so much.

But as for the Earth Flashbacks...you have no idea how I would hate that.

Well, like there's anything to flash back to. Seriously you'd be looking at highway footage. And Jazz pumping that song out of his speakers. :note bowwww bowbow bow bowww :note

:lol I am so glad that wasn't in the movie

But I'm disappointed we didn't see Peter Cullen as Prime's "driver." >_>
