Why G1 was So Great

Recommended Posts

I suggest getting E-Starscream. He's clearly modeled after the F/A-22 Raptor, and is great for posing on shelves in robot mode (He's got 15 points of articulation).

yo, when i put up that post, i didn't mean for it to become a repeat of the topic "any toy that is not G1 is a waste of plastic".

*raises hand*... That would be who called anything non g1 a waste of plastic. Just to sum it up Transformers R.I.P 1984-1990.

heh...15 posts.

Hi, you aren't a fan, you're a virus.

And at the same time, you feel its easier to claim that Transformers died after 89 or whatever because that way you don't have to accept that kids are allowed to buy them now, and you just want to be greedy and keep them all for your stupid generation. Grow up, get a job, a life, a girlfriend, or something...We are FANS. You are NOT.

The revolution is here? the revolution just got owned and upturned.

^I knew it. I was thinking 'Ohhh, Bodycount's gonna have a field day', and it was inevitable.

Some day you guys will realize i'm just fighting for the right for ALL Transformers series to have a right to exist, in the first place....=P

There are some great poeple on this forum, but they're all hindered by these "Geewun rulz!" guys...its getting to where we can't even discuss what we like without one of them popping up and slamming us for liking the new stuff....I realize I don't hate G1, I just won't put up with their purist followers.

I think the cartoon was better for the simple fact that when they transformed, they didn't have that generic pose transform crap that's in the Energon cartoon.  That is so cheap!  I mean c'mon.

nope, they just morphed not to mention they were really poorly drawn. Give me a break people. It doesnt get better than 3D animation with a toon shader. I could careless what they turn into, show is written way better than G1, it doesnt have crape animation and everyone looks like their toys and the characters dont flash rainbow colors on the fly. The trasnformation sequences in RID and Energon are amazingly well done, deal with it....its better than G1. Hell scoobydoo is better than G1 and anyone that cant see that needs to buy, borrow or rent the G1 DVDs and have their memory brought to speed.\

Trust me, reallity hits when you watchem again. I remembered them all detailed and the storys complex then I watched as an adult and realized that even pokemon is a higher quality show than G1. Sad but true. Children have an incredible imagination.

Whatever dude, I have watched G1 again. They don't say "Optimus Prime Transform." That is terrible. It is my only real gripe about the new cartoon. That generic pose/transform thing sucks major ass. You can't sit here and tell me that is an improvement. They use the same Transform scene with the Autobots, it starts with them talking about themselves in third person like they have Downe Syndrome or something, then they go up, way up in the air with a blurred background, then they transform, then they pose, then they end up on the ground like they never went up in the air and stuff. WTF? The Decepticons don't do that (usually). They just transform. Why the hell do you have to alert the world, just transform.

Pokemon higher quality? :roll Right.

How many dozens of times are you going to use that anime pose crit as part of your defense? The pose has zero affect on the quality of the storyline, character development, or toyline...

I edited out my previous statements. I know everyone is sick of them. :thumb

Cool man. You know I dig G1, but I have also said how I think the new figures are leaps and bounds above G1 as far as posability. If you saw my collection of Energon and Armada you would know how much I dig those toys. I just think they could tweak a few things with the cartoon and make it so much better.

*must kill BC*

I can't wait to see what's next for Transformers myself Imean like 5 years from now when my boy will be 7. It'll be neat to build stuff with him and relive the adventure. Lets just hope they stay, look at Barbie, that stuff never took a break since its introduction (I think).Any TF series worked well and will continue as long as the interest remains. Transformers forever.
