So, okay... the Allspark

Insightful. I would have to imagine though, if the humans were able to figure out how to harness and channel the cube's energies, that the Cybertronians would have a better understanding and control over those energies. This would explain why all the human created TFs seemed to be mindless and hostile by nature.

Well - I think that's the thing. The Cybertronians view it as more of a mystical artifact, not as some alien gizmo to be tampered with and controlled (except Megatron - who wants to control it for his own power). But the Autobots seem to view it with more caution and less of something to be commanded and controlled like a weapon. So I think because of that, most of the Autobots and probably most of the Decepticons too don't understand it, because it is more than just a simple machine to be used (Again, except Megatron who sees it as a tool to make himself more powerful and grant him an army of warriors).

The Allspark is not unlike Marvel's Cosmic Cube.

The cube made them all seem both alive and alien. And I give them props for that. G1's take on it seemed to be more like they were all originated as super complex mechanical toys left alone for a very long time.. but you couldn't really establish any direct reason for them being anything more than machines that like to blow things up.

The only thing I want to know, is why the cube seems to turn everything Decepticon? Is there some setting that needs to be turned on?

Still, my favorite moment was the killer vending machine. I sooo want to toy of that thing.

Not Decepticon, but new born. Suddenly finding oneself with consciousness, one doesn't know how to react. Violence is a rather normal reaction, I would say.

Also, note how Prime said "Were we so different?" after Ironhide asks "Why are we fighting to save the humans? They're a primitive, violent race."

The movie origin is - in spirit - the same as G1... i.e.: Cybertronian life being seeded by extra-terrestrial forces. In the comics, Cybertronian life was created by a God named Primus, and in the cartoon they were created by an alien race known as Quintessons. In the movie, it's by an alien artifact known as the AllSpark.

I like how the AllSpark doesn't possess any noticeable sentience - it really just seems to be an artifact - a very advanced (arguably divine) tool... much like G1 Vector Sigma, only without a perceivable A.I. Like Vector Sigma, the AllSpark is just a machine (deus ex machina?) - devoid of consciousness, sentience or morality. It merely does what its user wishes it to do - again, like Vector Sigma. If Megatron got his hands on it, he would have created a new army of Decepticons. I highly doubt that the AllSpark would have questioned him or anything. So yeah, the AllSpark is fundamentally just a voiceless cubed version of Vector Sigma when you think about it - both of which were made before Cybertron was seeded with life -- "I am Vector Sigma. Before Cybertron was, I was."

Perhaps the Autobots are more evolved than the Decepticons... in that they had to conquer their own nature in order to become the moral creatures that they are. (some more than others -- heh, Ironhide)

Someone posted in one of the movie threads (sorry I can't remember who deserves the credit), that maybe everything turned into a Decepticon because all of our "modern" technology being exposed to the Allspark radiation was derived from Megatron.

Trench, Damnit!!!

Thats Brilliant.... No really.

The Allspark Cube was nothing new, It's just the comics version of the matrix. I just would have fired the guy who decided to make it a brown box. Lamest Prop Ever.

Except that the "spark" the Allspark imbued the Nokia phone with is where the evilness came from. Besides that, it's just metal parts.
