So, okay... the Allspark

Recommended Posts

This was one of my favorite things about the movie. This weird space cube creates the Autobots and Decepticons, and they have no idea what it is or where it came from... I just thought it was really cool how they established right up front that the Transformers don't have a clue about their own origins or the nature of their creator. It gave them a certain vulnerability IMO.

I mean, they seem merely to be more complex versions of the Nokia Transformer that Agent Simmons created with radiation from the Allspark.

For some reason, that really appeals to me. Like, they could have been some cosmic accident or byproduct of the cube's true purpose even.

Thoughts?

I so totally agree with you. You are so right IMO.

Now - what would you do - if the Allspark ended up being from Unicron or Primus (remember they do NOT have to be big robo-planet thingies)? And either Unicron or Primus came to the Transformers on Earth later on? I'm not saying it is a good idea or shoudl be done - but it makes you think... "Maybe they can take this TF God thing to the next level and not be some Galactus rip-off or giant man in suit deal??"

u stole my new handle, ladiesman! damn! :clap

and yeah, i like how the allspark broadens the TFs existence. i hope we see even more TF novels now that the movie has been released. im jealous of the star wars universe... they got so much expansion with the books its not even funny! hope that happens with TF.

FIXED.

I never want to read "Optimus transformer his legs, exposing his hip and knee joints whilst his shoulder joints simultaneously aligned with his chest as his head emerged from that chest.." IDW's movie adaption and prequel kick arse.

But yeah, definite points for making the allspark a non-transformer technology. Something that was alien to the aliens. Also, super giant fantasto points for not having Prime use a matrix to light their darkest hour.

Hell Yeah - I AGREE!

Why would Prime have used the Matrix, if he even has one in the movie universe?

The Allspark, the guns that still seem to come from nowhere, at least for Prime and Bumblebee, the Transformers using terms like "leaking fluids", all of the comic relief, really shows that the movie is no better than the G1 cartoon. Yes, the robots are super detailed and not "men in suits", but it is a live action movie, so that's something that must be; they can't not make them look realistic. But aside from that, the movie really is no better or different from G1.

Okay - and that's a bad thing? Or what?

Not a bad thing at all. It's just nice to have seen the movie know for sure, especially after so many people misunderstood the stance of people were concerned about the film.

I agree completely. It's an excellent premise.

like my dog, i hate being FIXED. :P

yeah, i would never want to read that either, so its a good thing you're not a writer. hehe.

the cartoon and comics have such an established space already. im just saying it would be nice to see the universe expanded into the novel world. the tf story in the RIGHT hands would be great, IMO, and i would definitely read them.
