What do you NOT like about Transformers?

Recommended Posts

Constructive criticism I don't think was the intent; this thread clearly said NOT LIKE!

At any rate, I think story and character development are lacking and could be improved.

Now even though I missed out on the beast wars (transmetal 2) and beast machines I think that what I have been learning about the stories has got me interested in owning the serise on dvd.

the figures are amazing; I have been collecting all the universe redecos of the beast-formers and have found them to be my favorite bots out of my collection.

So what kind of criticism am I saying by this?

well I think with the armada thing (glad I missed this one) with the gimick of the mini cons was to much on the gimick and lost all control over the quality, transformation and articulation of the late beast-formers.

energon is getting a little better, the power link thing sounds cool but it still needs work. but the these new toys lack personality to me.

I am so thankfull that hasbro released this universe line with the beast-formers and the great paint jobs.

to bad this same standered is not applied in the other line.

even the altinators could be made better with better plastics and paint jobs. and no I'm not impressed with binial techs chip-able paint jobs.

My god. How do you "Tripple" post like you just did? LOL

Yeah, the Beast Machine/Beast War Toys are really good. If you are looking for some good ones. Here is some of my favorites...

Transmetals Rattrap

Transmetals Terrorsaur

Transmetals Tarantulas

Transmetals Waspinator

Transmetals Megatron

Universe RazorClaw (Transmetals 2 Tigertron Repaint)

well, I REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAALy don't like the fact that transformers have become poke'mon-ish. armada was the most blatant example, and RID with the combiners. unlike G1, they didn't have any boxed sets, and with energon, we're gonna have MORE prime cobinations...

That's what you get when you let the Japanese "own" the Transformers cartoon. RiD/Armada/Energon really isn't that different from any other Japanese cartoon tone-wise. Which is probably why it feels like Pokemon or something. Of course, when contrasted with BW/BM and even G1, it seems jarringly different. For the life of me, I will never understand how Japanese cartoon people think it's cool to have robots blowing the crap out of each other one minute, and doing pratfalls the next (to the sound of "DOIIING?!?!" or something). It's like they can't decide whether to indulge their fanboy impulses, or their goofy sense of humor.

Does this count as a "not like"? :tftongue

Sounds like a "not like" to me. :D

And I completely agree. Which is why I would like to see a North American version again instead of more re-dubbed Japanese shows.

Every incarnation of the TF series has one character that I totally completely thoroughly HATE. For the current incarnation, it's surfer-dude Ironhide.

Whoa, Kicker-dude. You totally stole my bong man. C'mon give it back.

I like tfs for the most part my few complaints are

1. FANS who can't accept change (as I dodge Beast war and RID toys). G1 was great without a doubt. I have most of originals but there seems to be fans on other sites (I am new hopefully this site is better). All they wanna hear and discuss is G1

everything else sucks! G1 had good (Predaking, Fort Max) and bad points (Throttlebots, Pretenders) as all the toylines do. Bottom line just because U as fan do not like it does mean it should not be sold. I stopped posting in other boards becuase all I started reading no matter what the topic "if it is not G1 it sucks

2. Twist ties - PLease Hasbro Think of something new :tdown

3. Hard to find figures - exclusives :tdown

4. Why can't we have versus packs in the US?

5. :usa Our great us safety laws ( no G1 Megatron,Metroplex or fort (brave) max reissues) :usa
