What do you NOT like about Transformers?

Main thing I cannot stand:

Canadian Transfans

British Transfans

Main thing I can't stand: racists. :)

It has nothing to do with racism :roll :tflaugh

However, it apparently has everything to do with nationality. :tfhuh

There isn't a word for someone who has prejudice on the basis of nationality, so: racist. :) Well, you could say 'nationalist' I suppose, but that would imply something completely different.

It has nothing to do with Race. You can't call someone a Racist when it's not RACE they are talking about. Just because you have no word for it doesn't mean you can use the wrong one in it's place.

Whichever word I used, it doesn't change the fact that you're an idiot, does it? Perhaps you ought to judge me on my personality rather than my place of birth. Wheelie.

There was NO reason fotr Name Calling.

DO the Mods allow that sort of Direct Flaming here?

So let me get this straight, you get upset about someone calling you a Wheelie (which you are) when you just insulted 2 nations of transfans. Hmm, whats worse, name calling or prejudice?

I never Called ANYONE a name. I stated my Dislike for something GENERAL and you started Cussing ME out and flaming ME, which is very perosnal and direct. In other words you were insulting me. I never INSULTED anyone.

I never INSULTED anyone.

:rofl

Except for Canadians and Brits....

Exactly. :canada

Lord Galvatron, what do you have against Canadian and British transfans anyway? I never saw an explanation for it.

the problem with safety standards (in toys) is they give a false sense of security to parents. that creates a whole new problem rather than solving the old ones. parents rely too much on safety standards while the same problems that caused them to exist in the first place still happen! thats the point i'm trying to make. and there have been studies that show this to be true.

Very true. Even so, I still think we need safety standards. Though really, we're both generalizing here. After all, I don't think either of us would argue that two-year-old kids should have toys marketed to them with itty bitty pieces that they can choke on. The issues in this thread seem to be the infamous "drop test" and the whole toy gun law. My kids aren't real big toy droppers, but then again it's nice to know that if they ever did drop a toy off the balcony or something, it wouldn't shatter into a million plastic blades of death. I think the idea behind that is, "is this toy potentially something that would be unsafe to market to children in the age range specified on the box?" And if it becomes a hazard when it's dropped, the answer (sadly) would be yes. But I'm not too bothered about the gun law, b/c a) I don't want any more kids getting shot by cops, and b) I never liked G1 Megatron anyway. Bleah. Lame toy. Lame character. Shockwave should have taken over Cybertron when Megatron left. But I digress...

P.S. Sorry about the knee-jerk reaction there; I just get defensive when it comes to my kids and stuff.

P.P.S. Does anyone ever think about blaming the toy manufacturers for producing such cheap crap in the first place? :wtf

:) i'm glad to see we're not all back and forth anger here. it's not that i'm totally against safety. after all tf's are not marketed toward little kids (under 5), they have the gobots which is perfect for them.

what gets me is when they have to come up with a new standard because of the very few incidents that did occur while theres been a million or so of that product that were made that people didn't have any problems with at all. i'm sure you can agree that most of these incidents happen to people who ignore what they're buying small children and are too busy talking on the phone, or on the computer or playing video games and not paying attention to their children. i'm not saying all, but most.

i never meant to imply anything negative about you and i really am sorry if anything came out sounding that way.

i can go along with toy gun policy, in this day and age thats just common sense.

the drop test is still an iffy issue, (mainly because we don't really know how realistic of a situation they test it under) but in all reality it shouldn't be that hard for hasbro to simply use a better grade plastic. i mean c'mon if they get a unicron to pass it, fort max shouldn't be that much tougher.

fair compromises are always out there, i think we just proved that! :thumb

peace! :wave

:roll you people are acting like a bunch of 2 year olds just shut up and go on :roll

I believe it's time for this thread to be closed or have the last 2 pages removed by one of the admins, this is not the place for this type of discussion, joke or not. You wanna bash other countries, do it in the non-TF general discussion, and be mature about it.

I never INSULTED anyone.

:rofl

I did NOT insult them I said I didn't care for them/like them (in general)....

How is that insult?

All the Name calling and labels of "racism" and other out and out angry behavior from people from those Two nations in this thread alone indicate PART of my dislike for them. (The Reasons would be "Defunct" and "Phazer")
