5. :usa Our great us safety laws ( no G1 Megatron,Metroplex or fort (brave) max reissues)  :usa

All I have to say about safety laws is that you guys sound like a bunch of brain-damaged bikers Starscreaming about helmet laws. I actually have children, unlike many of you, and believe me when I say that I'm glad the US has the sense to enforce higher safety standards than other countries. But hey, who cares about child safety, when long smokestacks on 20th Anniversary Prime are at stake? :stone

heres the way i look at it. if you have children at the age where they want to eat everything then no parent should be getting them any kind of toys with small parts in the first place! kids are over that by the age of 5 which is the starting age these toys are meant for.

what makes the laws outrageously stupid is that there are tons of other things in most houses that kids can just as easily choke on or can hurt themselves with. how do you suppose they regulate all that?

even if you have an older kid and an infant who you're afraid of them getting their hands on the older kids toys, well thats easy too, don't let them get at the older ones toys.

bottom line is a small child will not choke on any toy parts if the parents are doing their jobs! no small toy parts are nearly as dangerous as a parent who does not pay attention to what their small child is getting into.

these regulations are in place for one reason, because of bad parenting and the lawsuits that come from it. it's always easier to blame things on someone or something else rather than taking personal responsibility for the situation.

as for the topic...i have no problems with the figures at all. the way i see it if you like them you do. if not, hey, don't buy them! it's that easy. my problem is with the dulled down for the kids cartoons. to the writers and produces of them i can only say one thing..."grow some balls!!" robotech was a kids cartoon and there was a lot going on in that series. love, hate, triumph, tragedy, death, and destruction. now THAT was a great cartoon!

Canadian isn't a Race.... it's a Nationality

It has nothing to do with racism :roll :tflaugh

However, it apparently has everything to do with nationality. :tfhuh

There isn't a word for someone who has prejudice on the basis of nationality, so: racist. :) Well, you could say 'nationalist' I suppose, but that would imply something completely different.

It has nothing to do with Race. You can't call someone a Racist when it's not RACE they are talking about. Just because you have no word for it doesn't mean you can use the wrong one in it's place.

The term "natoinalist" does apply. I'm not so sure that it actually implies anything different.

Well, I'm not gonna touch that "nationalist/racist" thing... (except to say that Lord Galvy's first post was funny and y'all are too serious...)

Okay, let me bring myself down a bit here. I guess all I will say is that parenting is not the "no duh" exercise that some of you make it out to be. I especially found the bit about not letting the younger kids get in the older kids' toys to be particularly hilarious. I've got two boys (with a third on the way) -- the older one is almost 6, and the younger one is almost 2. I can't even begin to list all the possible scenarios in which our younger son might have access to toys that could be potentially dangerous for him. Of course my wife and I try to keep things out of his reach, but a lot also depends on the other two people in the house (the kids). For instance, my younger son walked over to me once with a marble from "Hungry Hungry Hippos" in his mouth (I guess he was taking the game a bit personally). He had gotten inside the closet where the game was, pulled it down, opened it up, and proceeded to grab the most dangerous little part he could, and stuck it in his mouth. I have no idea why, but the point was he could have easily choked on it. And that's just one example -- as much as I would love to say that my older son always cleans up his toys, and never leaves anything lying around, even on accident, it wouldn't be the truth. You have to understand that stuff happens when you're dealing with kids -- it's honestly a bit insulting to read these insinuations that no good parent should ever be in a situation where their child has gotten into something they shouldn't have. If that's true, then you may as well call DCFS on me right now.

You may not like or understand the laws that prevent toy manufacturers in this country from releasing unsafe products, but please don't let your frustration lead you to stereotype and judge parents, many of whom are doing the best they can. Come back when you've got kids of your own and then we'll talk.
