Pretty sure this killed it for me.

 

I preordered this thing months ago, dished out over 100 dollars and waited patiently only to have a rickety piece of cheap plastic show up on my doorstep broken.

 

wow i got some friends from houston.... anyway, i'm realy glad i pulled out on this at the last minute, also it doesn't seem like the stock on these guys are diminishing very quickly, i expected all the stores to be sold out the day of release, with these kind of qc issues it's not suprising.

Ok, got him today and boy am I dissapointed. Ah well, perhaps the next couple days will see me finding new things, but I think the design is just critically flawed... whateves.

 

I couldn't help but notice that the Yamato VF-1's are really highly superior to out favorite second in command, though perhaps there's some irony in that. I decided to take some pics to compare.

And for anyone who's still wondering about the color, it's actually almost dead on with the greyish color on the VF-1's:

 

 

So, in comparison to the Valkyrie, Starscream is less posable (even with the VF's fast packs, on starscream is still more top heavy and unable to stand) is shorter in bot mode, despite having roughly the same size alt mode, more brittle, has lower play value and still quite expensive.

 

I'm sorry guys, the Macross team still has a better bot in the large-scale competition. Granted, I think Alts/BT's have them beat for value and all around coolness, but if this was Takara's shot across Yamato's bow they have nothing to worry about.

 

Again, let's hope that the next few days bring me some more love for this guy, but I'm not exactly optimistic.

I was one of the people asking for those pictures, and that really helps put things in perspective. Thanks. At least I know that if I ever want to have a MP SS and "Jetfire" they'll be to scale.

Yeah, isn't that freakin weird? The stranger part is that it wasn't flash- that's just diffused light from the window nearby.

Yeah, it actually looks like they would be, but they're such different figures it might be kind of wierd.
