Is Hasbro going release this version of Starscream like they did with MP Prime here in the states or what? I'm curious because they didnt release a version of Ultra Magnus so I'm wondering what Hasbros plans are. If they dont I will eventually buy Starscream because he is after all my favorite Decepticon. If Hasbro dont release their version of him then they are really missing out because I think a Hasbro version would sell very well here in the States.

Well the Hasbro board did indictate at Botcon that a North American release of SS wasn't out of the question. They even went one better and said that it would be worth buying both MP-SS and Hasbro SS, which to me means... COME ON PROTOTYPE #1!!!!!! And I would certainly be willing to shell out another $60-$75 for a proper SS, ie first proto in the correct colors.

 

I think I read specifically that it would be an MP-SS in SS's original colour scheme, to think that it would be the original mold/proto-type as well would be stretching things, imo.

I agree. It's not like Hasbro and Takaratomy are the same company and just have everything in common. Just let it go....... anyway you can always put the hip kibble on his legs so I don't see the issue.

Hey, I admit it's wishful thinking, but as I said in my earlier post, the quote I remember reading from Botcon was that many people would have no problem buying both versions (yes, I do remember them saying the same thing about Primus and I know how that turned out). Anyway, w/ the interest that the original proto is still generating, I don't think it is too much of a stretch to think it is at least a possibility. After all, just like w/ MP Prime, the people that really want an MP-SS have already bought the Takara version, so why buy the Hasbro version unless there are some serious changes (besides just colors). But time will tell I suppose.

 

EDIT: Yeah, UPS says it was delivered at 1:41. Woot woot. Got MP-SS waiting for me when I get home. Oh yeah.

I can definitely think of some ways to improve him, but overall, I would say he is worth getting if you collect BTs/Alts.

He is more an Alternators than a Masterpiece. :wtf

I wouldn't say he's both. Change his colors and take the flaps off and he's as toon accurate as MP Convoy. His jet mode has way more realistic features than any Alt. and his face is 100% toon accurate unlike the Alts stylized head molds.
