New MP-3 Starscream Images

I've never been a big fan of scene-specific accessories, personally.

So the Star Wars' old stand-by, Luke with Floppy Hat, Luke with Holographic Princess Leia, Luke with Sandpeople Attack Damage, Luke with his Father's Lightsaber, Luke with Poncho doesn't really do it for you?

(I'm sure there were more versions of A New Hope Tatooine Luke than I listed...)

Negative. Don't avoid Yamato. TOTALLY BYPASS the masterpiece series-- they're expensive remakes of G1 Jetfire with one more point of articulation.

The 1/48's are amazing. Perfect variable so you don't have to detach anything, they're super posable, and they look great with TF's. They're a bit pricey, but well worth it!

The 1/48's are 50 bucks more than the Masterpieces! (Do you have any comparison pics between the Masterpieces and a 1/48 scale?)

And every bit worth it.

Pics are abound all over the intarwebs. check out the pics I put up in this thread for a 1/48. You know what a 1/55 looks like. Your best bet is macrossworld.com. also check out thier forums.

Seriously though-- think of the difference between G1 and BT's. Now apply that to 1/55 vs. 1/48. There's that much of a difference. And for what Jetfires are going for these days, the added money for a 1/48 isn't all that different.

And I've also heard a bunch of stories about the 1:48 Yamato Valks breaking.... this is the company that MP Starscream is keeping.

I think I said this to you in another thread, but the only piece that really preaks on a 1/48 is the backpack hinge (BP-8) which breaks if you force it farther than it was designed to go. There's a bunch of different recaster selling the part for cheap so if one breaks, there's not much to worry about except your time. I've had mone for about a year and a half now and I have had no breaks whatsoever. I was super afraid to even touch the damn thing when I first got it, but now I'm more liberal with force (something I'm also learning with MPSS) and it's a sturdy little guy.

Has anyone, outside of Mobil1's problem (which, reading it again, seems to be the way it's designed-- to pop off instead of snap in half), had any breaks yet? I've got some stress marks, but after the initial push, the joints have loosened up and everything's going fine. Transformed him back and forth a bunch of times now and haven't had a problem.

ANyone snap one yet?

BTW... I absolutely LOVE the fact that Takomy decided to print the "No Step" labels on MPSS! All the Valks come with no step stickers, TONS of them, which you have to put on individually, and it winds up taking about an hour to do it right.

Now if only the person that weathered my SS didn't rub off the "Conquest is made of the ashes of one's enemies" on the side of the cockpit I'd be pretty happy....

:eek

That sucks!!!!

It says: "Conquest is made from the ashes of ones enemies"

and has a picture of the MTMTE triangle jet!

I creamed when i saw that!!!!

Yeah. They did it on both sides. :tdown

Thanks for the quote.

BTW - to your other question - once i figured out the clippy issues. i no longer have any fear of breaking him.

I have transformed him a few times now and it feels very solid. The stressiness is only when you go against the hidden clips.

*thanks to Master Of Puppets for this revelation*

hmmmmmm :schin

and again I say hmmmmmmm :schin after reading the bit about the clippies

My 1/60 scale VERITECH from Yamato had paint chipping problems on the legs, I tried to fix it, but meh...waste of money.

MP SS at least feels solid and not so flimsy as the VERITECHS

Actually i wish someone more technically inclined would give a better description - but in the Review, thread over in Toys (too many damn MP3 threads!!!) Master Of Puppets posted teh picture of the stress marks on teh wings. And mentions the rear Wing Assembly.

What really needs to happen is -

The front exhausts, tilt forward alowing those speed packs on his shoulders to flip around. this all unclips the top of the jet from his arms (which are folded to the under body). You will prolly have better luck disloging the arms from the jet rather than the jet from the arms (since they are sturdier blocks)

Unclip the Hip Kibble from the legs (or if you prefer from the hips - i just remove them completely when transforming)

Now the back panel where the plane body meets his legs. lift that up. It will have the entire wing assembly attached to it!!!.

Now the wings slide out away from the jet. revealing all sorts of joints for the wing assembly that you cant see in jet mode.

Now the wings can unclip as if they were going to rotate backwards, but once unclipped the fold forwards!

The rest is pretty straight forward... and i dont know if that made any sense at all.

:redface

It'd probably make more sense if I had him in hand.... but yeah I think I get what you're saying.

Basically we all need to learn to speak Japanese.
