Movie Megatron?

Recommended Posts

over at the main forum i post at, the general reply to every movie design has been "WTF?!". even people that are realy familiar with tf's from g1 to cybertron are wtf-ing.

theres a total of 1 guy that thinks it's awsome lol, but yea he's a total mech head.

I love the movie designs, but I at least understand the backlash about Starscream and Prime. Megs is the only one that shouldn't be expected to stand on tradition. Why all the hate?

kuz it lookes like its strait out of a bad robot horror movie?

Oh yeah, there is a huge difference b/w the rxn on these boards and those on TFW2005. They are absolutely opposite. (btw which boards are your "main" boards??? You post here all the time)

I got to say i don't get it. I know that they are willing to slap megatrons name on almost anything, but this is just bad. he looks like a giant pile of scrapmetal. megatron is supposed to be a brilliant strategist, a ruthless dictator, and commands throught fear. this things looks like a chromed out swamp-thing. and how is alien spaceship a robots in disguise.

Nobody accepts an incarnation of Megatron that lacks,at minimum, a fricking huge arm cannon.

Nobody?

Cause he doesn't look like a Transformer

I'm not gonna complain any more. I just wanna see this movie to see how every thing plays out.

He doesn't get a chance to get an Earth Mode (at least by the Old Script).

He is also the most alien-looking of all the TF's due to it.

Guess he says "F a disguise" Maybe it is a disguise........200 million light years away from here.

lol, my main board is this anime board thats tucked into a little corner somewhere on teh internet :-P everybody knows eachother pretty well and i'm one of the few that hasn't met the rest of the crew yet just kuz i don't go to cons... most new people are way out of place there just kuz we're all weird and stuff. basicly, take inh, then split it into about 6-7 sub-forums

it's been around for quite sometime and arose out of the demise of another amv board (Otaku Vengeance). my post count there is 2023 but most are in the 4 - 5k range, alot of people would have well over 10k if it wasn't for a few hate weeks....

Hollywood's obsession with endoskeletal robotic designs?

i said this somewhere before but the purpose is to make the robots look funtional as opposed to a bunch of empty metal containers connected by pipes and wires that are animated by a magical force. just compair the robots from "I, Robot" and Pixar's "Robots". which design asthetic looks more realistic?

holy f*ckballs

with some ketchup please

This is the one thing I haven't been able to completely grasp. Why does a transformer need to look like that to be considered "realistic." To me, they look "man made." Better question is why is Hollywood so in love with robots being designed like this that this is the only way they can be made. This concept isn't new, it's just new when applied to TFormers. I look forward to the days Hollywood gets away from the robotic endoskeletal look and actually come up with a new concept.

Um, because the old cartoon had a tendency to make the characters look like humans wearing robot suits.

Did you actually read what I posted? What does the G1 cartoon have to do with Hollywood's obsession with endoskeletal robotic designs? I may be in the minority, but does noone else think a robotic life form wouldn't have found a way to cover exposed wires and hydraulics from damage after fighting each other for millions of years. I just think they have a "man made mecha" look to them.

Agreed.

*doesn't agree* You guys just want to Starscream about stuff that isn't even the final product and I think it's comical.

Do you need to strip away your skin in order to know that you have muscle tissue, veins, tendons, and bones underneath it?
