Why do the Autobots "fly" in the first few episodes of G1 and then later forget how?

I dunno, but Binaltech Wheeljack can fly, Hirofumi Ichikawa wouldn't pull a new ability out of his ass.

:wtf

How do YOU know? Ichikawa can pull anything out of his ass anytime he wants.

Hey, Wheeljack CAN fly in his techspecs

Tech Spec

"Never do what your enemy expects you to do."

Wheeljack is the mad scientist of the Autobots. Always inventing new weapons and gadgets. Most adept at driving while in care Mode. Likes to show off his stunts. Flying range of 800 miles using solid-fuel rockets in arms. Shoots magnetic inducer, shrapnel-needle, and gyro-inhibitor shells from his shoulder cannons. He is his own worst enemy. Often injured while experimenting with new weapons.

great. now my Hotspot is bleeding.

I knew those ridiculously long ape-like arms were good for something.

Come on guys, you're forgetting the most fundamental explanation for anything unexplainable in scifi...

Yup. Jedi is classified as an "undefined" miscellaneous religion in Australia - which means that although our government recognise Jedi as a religion, they're not entitled to make any special legislature for it, nor is it entitled to government funding. In short, the Australian government (and NZ govt - NZ has the highest per capita population of Jedi in the world) recognises the Jedi religion in word only - nothing is done in reality by the government to accomodate for or support the religion (hence its legal designation as an "undefined religion"). :P The next Federal Census is happening soon, and I for one will definitely be putting down "Jedi" for my religion. :)

Also, Canadian Star Wars fans made the same attempt, but only 20,000 people claimed themselves as religious Jedi. In England and Wales, Jedi is the fourth most reported religion, surpassing even Buddhism, but the British government has refused to recognise the Jedi religion in any capacity (not even in an undefined capacity - I think the British government wanted to avoid what happened to the Australian government, who were totally taken by surprise).

You know if they ignored Muslims the way they ignore Jedis there would be outrage.
