Optimal Optimus

Recommended Posts

Hey, Bowb4Prime. I'd certainly recommend Optimal Optimus...but I'll also advice to wait for a little bit. In September or there abouts, is supposed to be a Transforming Titanium Optimal Optimus. While he'd be smaller, he'd also not cost as much.

Actually, it's the show that is toy-accurate.

Most BW show models are toy-accurate as the CG models were all based off 3D scans of the toys themselves.

Here are some reviews on the toy:

isn't that how all tf series are supposed to be?

i know they couldn't do it with g1 (for obvious reasons), and every time i watch my g1 dvd's i keep thinking of what it would look like if they'd been toy accurate  :tflaugh

my recent purchase?which one?

the one you got off of ebay i believe...it was somewhere in one of these threads i believe...you were mad cuz it took 2 weeks to get him and you saw one for cheaper...but i might have gotten comfused

That was FreedomGundam.

Optimal Optimus rocks, one of the best of BW. But Primal Prime has an even nicer colour scheme but he fetches for quite a bit nowadays.

Blot?

I saw one at a carboot sale the other day, but passed it up.

I think I may throw up  :tdown

Unless hes there this week...

*ahem*

I am quite fond of Optimal Optimus.

Yes... which is why I personally dislike the term "show-accurate" - it's a load of Blot. The toys come first and the show models are based on the the toys. There are a few exceptions, but on the whole, the Transformers is a toyline first. I personally use the term "show-likeness," because the word "accuracy" implies that anything different is, by default, inaccurate. This is not true for the toys - the toys are accurate... it's the show that's the variant.

They would look a lot like the early Marvel comic issues... in fact, some of the UK artists continued to draw toy-accurate models all the way through G1, and it looked pretty good.

"The Enemy Within, Part 5" - the very first Transformers story ever written by Simon Furman, with toy-accurate art!

This toy re-kindled my love of TF's, and I had him in display on my room for a long time.

Then my bro (who owned it) let a friend destroy it. *sighs*

I keep looking for a chance to get another one, although I'd prefer Primal Prime.

Bow - Get him.  GET HIM!!! He rules.  He is also the first TF to get me back into collecting.  though had I the chance to get Primal Prime instead, I would have, but that's just a choice of color, the mold ROCKS.

That and the new button that prevents you from getting shot IN THE EYE!!!

Oh and...

TM2 Megs, Optimal, Rampage and tigerhawk are awsome molds IMO

Other than his tank mode, I don't really care for Rampage that much. Too bulky.

show accurate = optimal optimus

non show-accurate = primal prime

same mold - the term is useful - irrelevant if the egg came first or the chicken...heh
