Optimal Optimus

ruru: showlikeness is a irrelevant for Primal Prime since he's not a show character. ;p His comic likeness is pretty toy-accurate but.

...and no, I'm not willing to make a toy version of this cover. :P Too many US exclusives that I don't own (including Primal Prime).

Yeah, but that cover pwns. It'd be cool if Primal Prime had a faceplate like his comic likeness. :thumb

Fine. Gimme the toys. :P :P

aww nuts.

FG: Redid the launcher button -- Primal Prime doesn't try to gauge your eyes out like OpOp. ;)

I am not sure, but is he Optimus Prime "beastialised"? or is it just new color fo Optimus Primal aka "Optimus Optimal"?

dude get him he is well worth it, next to rampage is is a certified triple changer +1 and the closest to G1 prime in stacher in beast wars

Well, I do happen to agree that this fig is NOT at all

a good Prime.

The colors are terrible.

And the triple change modes are knida sloppy...

But I think one of the appeals (besides being Prime, of course) is the animated TV show he appeared in. Once fans see a character moving and expressing emotions, we connect to them...

I have this fig as I collect all Primes and Megatrons...

And I keep it in the box... I dont even display it...

If anyone has a BM Primal Prime I would gladly trade up...

What do you think?

is this guy as cool as everyone makes him out to be.....im anti munky, but the more pictures i see of him the more i want him.......wich brings me to my next request...can anyone post some pictures of him in his different modes and different poses...because i keep thinking of getting him

I wouldn't get this toy. Reason being that all his modes are mediocre - normally with a toy, quality control notwithstanding, you would get one strong mode and one weak mode (i.e. Cybertron Thundercracker), both modes are strong (i.e. Alternator Jazz), and both modes are weak (i.e. Energon Optimus Prime - main cab) - with Optimal Optimus, it's hard to pinpoint which mode, if at all, is strong.

His "Transmetal Ape" mode is weak. He's riddled with kibbles that makes for an unconvincing robotic lifeform, much less an ape.

His "Battle Armor Carrier" mode looks like somebody stuck an exercise wheel between his hands while getting him to get down on his knees. Not at all convincing.

His "Jet" mode is akin to having a pair of wings stuck to a brick. Nuff said.

His robot mode is arguably his best mode, though that's not saying much. He looks like somebody used him as a Stretch Armstrong toy and somebody whupped a gun battery over his head which is now stuck on his neck.

Plus, the garrish colours on him is just terrible. I'm amazed how much people bitched about the color scheme on Cybertron Megatron but with Optimal Optimus, you hear people saying "AWESOME" and "NEATO" on this chromatic catastrophe. I attribute this to the Optimus Prime worship syndrome.

Rationally, I would save your money on something better, like getting GF Galvatron/Optimus Prime, or an Alternator, or a meal at Taco Bell, than to spend money on this toy. IMHO, this toy should had been given more thought before production.
