except that the examples you gave were later put into continuity. that hasn't.

The pred ship was never named.

It was called the Darkside in the PSone fighting game. The name origionates from a misinterpritation of the phrase "weclome to the darkside"

...o.k., X-Bob, even for you, that's stretching it. it's a frigging fighting game, not continuity.

It's still a valid counter to your origional claim, now if you'd had said "The pred ship was never named in cannon/continuity"...

The pred ship was never named.

it was never called the dark side in any episode? i could have swore it was... the episode where cheetor accidentally makes a transport from the axolon to the dark side. i might be wrong, and all my bw dvds are at my friends so i cant check at the moment.

When you talk about Transformers there is no such things as Cannon or continuity as far as I'm concerned.  Between the variouse versions of everything, from cartoon, to comics, to toys, to games, plus the endless retconing that pops up its jsut about as screwed up as trying to actually track the story of Superman.  The themes might stay the same but the details change every couple of years as new creative teams put new spins on things.

you're somewhat correct.

hasbro has stated that the following are new series' that have no baring on G1 what so ever:

Armada

Energon

Cybertron

antoher thing ot keep in mind.... whne people say continuity and G1 in the same sentence, they are generally refering to the cartoons G1, BW and BM, which DO link up.

tentagil: There is such thing as continuity in Transformers - or more accurately, continuities. And Transformers has lots of cannons - the most famous being Megatron's fusion cannon.

Re: Transmetal 2 -- Megatron and Tigerhawks are Transmetal 2s. They are Ultra Transmetal 2s. That's how Hasbro categorised them. The show or tech specs doesn't refer to them as Transmetal 2s, but they don't say that they're not Transmetal 2s either. They exhibit all the physical characteristics of other Transmetal 2s - asymmetrically designed cybernetic beast modes and use of chrome. The Ultra TM2s go one step further and have intermediate modes and cockpits (a vestigial feature from a thankfully abandoned design concept). In any case, the toys are classified as Transmetal 2s, therefore it's not incorrect for me to refer to dragon Megatron and Tigerhawk as Transmetal 2s.

It sure beats the fact that Animorph toys count as Transformers because Hasbro classifies them as Transformers. In fact, that's the only reason they count as Transformers. As cliffbee states in his Darth Vader TIE Advanced toy review, "(Star Wars Transformers) is the first true crossover subgroup we've seen - Animorphs don't really count since they were really just organic figures with the Transformers name slapped on to try sell more toys."

re: Predacon ship -- no, it was never actually named in the show. Terrorsaur referred to it as "the dark side," which has been widely misinterpreted as the name of the ship, a misinterpretation which was popularised by the game reference. Aside from that, the only official name for that ship that I am aware of is the "Terror Crasher," which is what the ship is called in the Japanese dub of Beast Wars and appears on various Japanese BW merchandise like collectible trading cards etc.

so the toys techs dont say that they are tm2's. in the show, it shows nothing or says nothing about them being tm2's. megs looked like a tm2 because he was thrown in the lava whilst he was mutating. tigerhawk was created by the vok, so how he ended up looking the way he did is anyones guess. but the fact remains: neither of them were made using megs tm2 chip or the tm driver. and seeing as how the tm2 technology wasnt anything natural, you cant say it was something that just happened like the tm1.

tm1's all had a third mode. none of the tm2's did however. except for tigerhawk and megs. even though they sucked. funny how those are the two im saying arent tm2's?
